Lukewarm Sinners, Repent!

For us to be saved, we must fully surrender our lives to Jesus. We can’t be halfway in the world and halfway for His kingdom and still say we believe. Doing this is not true salvation, but watered down, and only buttered up to sound good. People like this are not really for God, but lukewarm, of which God hates. And because people like this don’t often repent before death takes them, their destination is hell, where they are with the unbelievers. We learn this from the book of Revelation, chapter 3, of which Jesus spoke to John. Starting with verse 14 it reads, ⁴“and unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” (Revelation 3:14-18)

If you are not all in for doing God’s will but are still willfully sinning, then God is speaking to you. If you are addicted to pornography, then know that You are an adulterer also, of which people will not inherit the kingdom of God. Jesus said, ¹“ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:27,28) This stuff is filth and if you don’t see it this now, then you need to reevaluate your evil choices before God. This is because what you are doing, tells God that He doesn’t matter much to you. Otherwise, you would do all you can to get right with Him. Did you not know that Peter said, ³“who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” (1 Peter 1:21-23) God desires that all people become pure and holy, as He is holy. This happens when what God says in the Bible is meaningful to us. We are then born again in the Holy Spirit.

Paul taught, ²“know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11) Therefore, if you on this list of willful sinners, then you are on the path of destruction. Only the blood of Jesus can cover you and make you clean. This brings us back to the book of Revelation, chapter 3, which continues to read, ⁴“as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” (Revelation 3:19-22) Therefore, turn from your sins and follow Jesus, starting today. Seek the Lord often in the Bible and prayer, while doing His will also. Then, will you be able to live a new life in Christ.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I love You and honor You above all things. My delight is in You. People can take anything that I have in my life and I will still be happy, for my joy comes from You alone. Nothing this world has to offer me can ever compete with the blessings that You bestow upon me each day. Oh, how I love Your ways. I am so grateful to have left my old life behind, in order to experience what true happiness is like now. In the past, I was lukewarm and my deeds were wicked. My treasures were on earth and they brought me joy in the moment. And since my joy never continued, I was left wanting more and more of the self-same gratification in the flesh. I also needed the newest and greatest technological devices to be happy. And so my thoughts were corrupted with the lusts of my flesh, while also looking at pornography. I was so wretched and guilt-ridden for so many years. And although You know my life, not everyone else knows how I was delivered from such things. So I am honored to tell people that I have been set free by confessing my sins in prayer and giving my life to You, Lord. You heard my cries and wiped away my tears. I didn’t want to live another day where I was addicted to things that I know You hated. So I asked that You would remove the filth from my life and forgive me. This is when You did the most unexpected thing ever. Your hand came upon me and brought peace to my soul. At that moment I was cleansed from all my sins through Your blood. I may have been unworthy to be in Your presence before, but all that wickedness was swept away. And in doing this, You have put in me a clean heart. Thank You, Lord. I am made new because of Your mercy and grace. I love You so much. Amen.
