It has been so amazing to remember the Lord Jesus’s birth, this Christmas season. I’ve enjoyed sharing my love for Him with all of you. The Lord is my light and to give Him the glory this time of year is the least I can do. I know it most likely is not His birthday but no matter I remember the Lord and His coming into this world. Jesus’s birth is the reason why I celebrate Christmas. There is no other reason but to think on Him and to showcase His love to all people. The Lord did come to this earth to save us from our sins and for this, I give Him praise. Just like the shepherds made haste to know of the good news of Jesus’s birth, this was my decision also to know of Jesus and what He could do for my life. And as they witnessing His birth, they all went out and told everyone about it. Luke wrote that 1“they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.” They had just witnessed the greatest even of all time, along with being in the presence of angels, so their spirits were high. Telling everyone what they saw seemed very important to them. This same reaction can be said for a person that is born again. When we come to know Jesus, His love comes upon us with full force. This same love is then on full display for everyone to see and be blessed by.
So let me ask you a question. Have you responded to the gospel in a way that you want everyone to know about Jesus and be saved? Think about it. For this is what being born again is like. We want everyone to experience the same joy that God has blessed us. This energy is given by way of the Holy Spirit. It drives us to share our faith with everyone. We may not know how to do it but as we give ourselves over to God, then He is able to so a mighty work in our lives. What is amazing is that we don’t have to be a good public speaker or even have the best communication skills. For when God opens our mouths, the Lord is immediately at work and the words we speak are not our own but His. That is why sharing the gospel is so impactful. It is because the Holy Spirit is doing the work and not us. We are only His vessels to bring many souls unto Christ. Now thinking of the Shepherds, at Jesus’s birth, do you think that they were the best people to communicate the good news of the birth? Maybe not, but they trusted in God and many souls were impacted by way of them because of their outreach. You can also be a light to this lost generation if you just trust in God. You will never know the impact you will make until you give it all to God. Lastly, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. May the love of Jesus carry you through this day and all the yearlong. Always remember Him and God bless you always.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, You are so good to me and to all people. For Your humble birth has changed everything. We were lost but You have come to save us all from our sins. We did not have a way home, but You prepared it for us. We needed someone to step in and save us and You did so with no hesitation. You surely are our Savior and King. I am touched by everything You have done for me. Your birth has given me high hopes on life. Your death on the cross, has given me mercy that I don’t deserve. Your resurrection has given me new life. I am made new because of Your great love for me. Your sacrifice for mankind is deserving of all our praise. I pray that everyone will think of what You’ve done and honor You. May they give their ear to Your Holy Words in the Bible and pray more earnestly. Where else can we go for wisdom and knowledge. You are the bread of life and we ought to come to You for the nourishment and guidance that we need. Without You there is only darkness, therefore, come and shine brightly before us. Have Your way within us that all may see. Give us courage to share Your gospel with everyone. Fill us with boldness and a desire to be used in Your kingdom. I am honored and blessed to go out into Your harvest and share Your great love with the world. You are the reason why I live and for this, I will do all things for You, Jesus. I am Yours. My hope is in You. I love You. Amen.
