Marriage is an honorable choice to make when you love someone. We don’t linger too long in our courtship, lest we fall into fornication and lustful feelings towards one another. And instead, we pray often, and when God says it is the right person to marry, we propose quickly. We are therefore led by God’s decision over our own will in who and when to get married. It is so amazing to be assured by God that we are making the right decision. What an important choice and now we are confident in our decision. The wedding day can therefore, not come any sooner. For we have found our one true love and are ready to go forth and make a life with them. The marriage day is appointed by God and He is so happy to see us make the leap of faith to be with the one we love. Solomon said that 1“whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing,” and 1“obtaineth favour of the Lord.” What a wonderful thing it is to be favored by God as we start our new life in marriage. And when we realize this new journey is from God, we trust in Him more in prayer, as a couple. We are no longer separate in our choices but confide in each other and God for direction in life. This special bond, that we all desire, will grow ever so stronger as we trust in God. There is nothing that will help a married couple more than God’s presence in your marriage. Confiding in Him will help you find wisdom and counsel. Come and seek the Lord often in prayer and you will find joy.
Men and women are so blessed to find a spouse that loves the Lord and get married. These types of people don’t come every day and we are so grateful. We needed someone that would help us live out our faith, and we are so happy. Therefore, to be led to them is an honor and what we strive for. Such men and women that save themselves for their future spouse is so awesome to see, and hard to find now a days. And God is well pleased when he sees such people out there. Solomon put it this way, 2“who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” There is no price that can be put on a man or woman that has high moral standards for God. This type of person truly helps any relationship grow spiritually in the Lord. And after the initial infatuation is over, this relationship with the Lord will be what ignites again our love for one another. Truly, love is the key to a good marriage. And if love is what you desire, than grow in the Lord as a couple. Constant prayer and Bible study, one with another, will grow your love for God and one for another. This will better help you trust in God and your spouse. Even kindness and love will flow from your love for God, to your spouse daily. It is an awesome thing to see love grow in the Lord. So if your love is on the rocks, come to God about it as a couple and allow His love to build you back up again. What you once had can be rejuvenated and God is the key to making that happen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am so grateful for marriage. Thank You for leading me to a virtuous woman, in my wife. Elizabeth has blessed my life, more than I will ever know. The day I met her, there was love, and I know that You kept her for me. I didn’t have to look far and wide for you led me to her. The love we found in marriage was magical and I am so grateful for that day, Lord. Having You close to my heart, over these years, has helped me realize the love I once had and how You can make it stronger. You are able to build upon the relationship I have now with my wife and make it grow ever so stronger. And one thing I’ve realized Lord, over the years, is that with You in my life, the love for my wife is greater. There is less of a struggle but more of a building up of a beautiful friendship. You have helped lay the foundation of what love is and with that love in my life, my marriage has grown stronger. I pray Lord, that You will continue to build it up every day. I want us both to grow and learn together in Your knowledge Lord. I want our children to see our faith and desire to learn of You also. I trust in You Lord. I love You. Amen.
