We can only achieve so much happiness on our own free will. If our desires are not in line with God then our joy will come to a sudden halt in death. Eternal joy is in the Lord. This is the joy that the Lord promises to everyone that believes in Him. We don’t have to search for things to fulfill the flesh for we already have the blessings from God, in our lives. Now that we are living aside from our own good works but in the will of God, the joy of the Lord is made evident. The Spirit of God speaks truth to our minds. We are given knowledge, not from man, but God Himself. The Lord is our light and our strength. He is our refuge in the storms. He is our strength when we are weak. He comes to our rescue, because of His great love for each of us. We can’t help but sing praises to the Lord God, on high. We rejoice, for we were once dead but are now alive. The Holy Spirit has renewed our bodies to walk in the light of Christ. My soul magnifies the Lord for He is good. David also magnified God, when he said, 1“my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.” He may be thirsty but knew that Jesus was the bearer of living waters. He came thirsty and the Lord gave him drink. Jesus said, 2“Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” What Jesus offers is greater. Seek Him and you shall find joy beyond measure.
The Lord is my light and my high tower. I have been rescued from darkness into light. I was once blind but I can now see. I came thirsty, seeking the truth and Jesus came to me, offering living waters. I no longer had to find joy in all the wrong places for the Lord was all I needed for true happiness. The Spirit of God has come inside of my like a fire that cannot be tamed. I will not let Satan have his power over me any longer. 3I bear the armor of God and have God’s power to deflect his fiery darts. The temptations of the evil one will not do me wrong for I am on God’s side. The Lord is inside of me and wills me to do what is right, in the sight of God. His 1“lovingkindness is better than life” itself. I am so much better off, following Jesus than taking part in lusts of the flesh that lead only to death. My hopes and dreams are far greater than what the world offers for they are eternal. When all things come to dust, I will be rejoicing with my Lord God, and King. I am not preparing for a temporary home on earth but an eternal place in heaven. The Lord Jesus is the king of my life. I have much to rejoice in, for I have been saved from death and hell. I am grateful for the patience of God. I am thankful that He never gave up on me, though I was so deep in my sin. How merciful is the Lord to pull me out of my life’s mess. What a great God, I serve. He is true to His words and promises. Indeed, Jesus is 2“the Christ, the Saviour of the world”. Jesus is the only way to heaven. Come follow Jesus and be saved. He will come to your rescue.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am so grateful to know You. Thank You for accepting me into Your fold. You speak peace to my mind and give me hope. I come thirsty and You give me drink. I am filled in Your presence. I have no need to look elsewhere for joy, for all I need is You. I need You Lord, above all else. With You in my life, everything else just comes together perfectly. Mold me and help me fulfill my highest potential. I trust in You, oh Lord. You are the Christ, and my heart is yours. Take me for who I am and use me for Your kingdom. May Your light shine bright in my life. Lead me to the lost. If others are thirsty, speak through me, that they may find true joy. I long to have others taste of Your living waters. These people need you and don’t even know it. Open there hearts to accept You into their lives also. I pray that their eyes may be opened as well. You are my greatest delight and I trust that You can help anyone and everyone that comes to You. Lead me Lord. I love You. Amen.

1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
2John 4:5-30,39-42 (KJV)
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
3Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
