Lying is a very destructive habit and could, one day, get us in a lot of trouble. We may think that we have others fooled by our lies but God knows all. Don’t be found blaming others for your problems. If you initiated the trespass but blame it on another person the wrath of God is kindled upon you. Sure, the innocent person may have to suffer in this life for your cause but, in time, you will have your just reward. If you don’t repent you’ll be paying the price for your lies in hell. It is one thing to be tortured on earth for crimes we didn’t commit and another to be tortured in hell for things we did commit. Allowing another person to suffer for our lies will lead us to eternal destruction. Are you willing to give up eternal life in heaven just to save your face on earth? If you love God then tell the truth even when it seems most difficult. If you’ve lied and another person is in trouble because of it, confess what you’ve done to the rightful person/s. Call upon the Lord in prayer and turn away from your wickedness. Re-pay the person/s you have hurt. There is much joy in heaven when a sinner gives their life to Christ. All things are made new again. We may have to suffer on earth for our cheating and lies but it will be worth it.
Living a life for Christ is freedom. We don’t have guilt hanging over our heads any longer. When we sin Jesus pulls us through it. Living in the world is darkness and yields no fruit in heaven. It is not worth living a good life at the cost of another. Everything will, one day, come crashing down on us, if we don’t make amends for our actions. This life is short but after death comes eternity in heaven or hell. So we have a choice to make. Do we continue living a comfortable life that is contrary to God or repent? There is a promise of forgiveness to everyone that repents and trusts in the Lord. Everyone on the Lord’s side will have entrance to heaven. Ask that the Lord to help you make right your wrongs. Your submissiveness to God is required. Give your life to Christ and the way you act and think will be changed. His love will find root in your hearts and cast out all wickedness. He will convict you to give up your old life and accept a new one in Him. Oh Lord, thank You for convicting me of my faults. Through Your love, I no longer desire to walk in the world but in your light. Temptations to lie and cheat are because You deflect them. You are my shield. Your love guides me to live a better life. It is worth every trial to live for You. I love You.
Genesis 39:11-21 (KJV)
11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.
12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
13 And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,
14 That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:
15 And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.
16 And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.
17 And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:
18 And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.
19 And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.
20 And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.
21 But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
Matthew 16:24-27 (KJV)
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
