There are people that fight against God but there fight is in vain. God’s purposes are mighty and cannot be stopped. We are fools if we think we can fight against the all-powerful God. His judgments are swift and the wicked will be punished. Walking by the lusts of the flesh is a separation from God. For we are choosing to live in sin than to live with God. If we don’t get our urges under control we will eventually lose sight of God. God cannot dwell with us if we are deciding to live in sin. In Sodom, the people tried to get their hands on the two angels who were with Lot. They called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.” The hearts of the people were abominable to God. They didn’t care who they hurt in fulfilling their lusts. They were driven by the desires of the flesh. As “the men reached out their hands” to pull the angels into the crowd, the angels “struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness”. God’s will was on display and all those that fought against it were punished. The Lord will only have compassion on us for so long. If we put off repentance till the end their will be a permanent separation from God. We can either live for God that leads to eternal happiness in heaven or live for death that leads to eternal torment in hell. Jesus died that we may live again. He will loose the chains and set the captives free. Glory to the Lamb, who reigns on high. His glory shines bright forevermore.
The Lord is looking for a few good men and women to fight for His cause. We can either be His disciples or lay down in our pride. His gospel is going forth mightily among all nations. He is using the elect as vessels to bring forth His message. If He calls our name we must be listening. Pray that the Lord may always be in your heart. Live as if today the Lord is coming. Give up the world and preach the good news of Jesus Christ. Get into the Word of God that it may always abide in your heart. The will of God will be manifested in your life as you read. We are made strong in His words. His words confound the mighty and bring the proud to their knees. His words penetrate the hearts of the wicked and leave them wanting. Let the Spirit lead you to the broken hearted. The Lord will find root in their hearts and give them new life. It is by way of the Holy Spirit that his message is brought forth. If you let the Lord lead you, the truth will set you free. You will no longer be sucked into every temptation of the devil. You will have ways to escape the clutches of Satan. The Lord will change your heart and your mind. When you are tempted you will more easily say No, leave the room, turn the channel, or close the webpage. The effects of addiction is not worth the pain it causes. Addiction only leads to heartache and despair. Most of all, it is a separation of ourselves from God. Our flesh is weak but the Lord is strong. We will not be shaken if the Lord is with us. Let the love of God be with You. His love has no end.
Genesis 19:4-11
4 Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house.
5 And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”
6 So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him,
7 and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!
8 See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
9 And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.
10 But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
11 And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.
