Cast out any idols that have you captive. Anything that has you hooked except for God will only lead to destruction. The more we take heed to our lusts the more in bondage we will be. We may have faith in the Lord but because He isn’t our highest priority we will continue to make bad choices. Seeking our own self will, will drive us further away from God. Giving more time over to TV, sports, games and other things instead of God is feeding our inner lusts. Anything that is put in place of God is an idol. if we keep serving the idol, the larger it will get, until it has taken us over. We will eventually have hardly any or no time for God. God is watching us and knows our hearts. Seek His righteousness and He will lift you out of captivity. Seek more of Jesus and you will be filled.
God has said to not have any God’s before Him. Spending more time with an idol is serving it over God. God deserves all honor from Heaven above and on earth. If you have found yourself hooked by an idol, cast it out today. Let the Lord take your chains that have you bound and give you a way to escape. Freedom from sin is found in the Lord. It is only through our Savior that we can be freed from death. He has paid the price for our sins on the cross. Come to Him with a broken heart. Hold nothing back from Him. Don’t let anything come between you and the Lord. Do what it takes to get right with God. Make more time for Him. Seek His presence and you will find peace. His hand will come into your life and fill you with joy. Run to Him and feel His embrace. His love will set you free.
2 Kings 1:15-16
15 And the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.” So he arose and went down with him to the king.
16 Then he said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of His word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’”
