Two months ago I prayed for a lady in a wheelchair who had stage 4 cancer that had spread throughout her body. The doctors only gave her a few weeks to live and her hope was lost. However, that all changed after I prayed for her. Because God is greater than any doctor’s diagnosis, I told her that this cancer can be healed, but only by God. For that reason, I reassured her that God knows her well and what she is going through. And because of His great love, He desires that she could be happy and not have to suffer. I explained that Jesus only desires for us to come unto Him and He will do the rest. I then read a portion of John, chapter 14, and a devotion (Saved From Death Into Life) together. A portion of those verses read, 1“and whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:13,14) I then took her hand and prayed in Jesus’s name. While invoking God, I spoke to the cancer cells in her body and cast out them out, along with any other sickness that was afflicting her. This was said and done with the Holy Spirit since nothing is impossible with God. Our time together was amazing and before she left, I could see that there was something different about her. She was so happy and expectations for a cure were high. Although I believed that this lady would be cured, I never knew that I’d have the opportunity to know this for certain in person, until yesterday.
It was yesterday, a Friday night, that I decided to go evangelizing on that same street corner that I met her. It was there that she saw me once again. That was the spot that I liked to preach the gospel to every one that passed by. However, I didn’t expect what happened next. After I started to tell different people about Jesus, she spotted me and immediately started to run towards me. It was then that my focus turned to her. After she arrived, I noticed that she had tears streaming down her face, but looked very healthy. She then told me that she had been looking for me for several weeks to tell me the good news. This is because after the day I prayed for her, she got a checkup with her doctor and it was confirmed that the cancer was gone. Other doctors also checked a few days later and they also confirmed that she is now cancer-free. The doctors and nurses couldn’t believe it and she looked as if it never happened. Praise God, indeed. Truly, there are many times that I pray for people on the streets and I hope and pray that they are healed afterword’s, but this time was different. This is that moment that my faith in God’s healing was realized. I give God all the glory for using me that day in prayer. It was the Spirit of God that penetrated my body and hers, as I cast out all the cancer cells. Man, I wish you could have seen her yesterday. She was so happy and vibrant. There was so much hope for the future. What a miracle, indeed.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, how blessed I am to know that You are there for us. In the good times and bad, You are right by our side when we have faith. I am grateful that You answer us in prayer. How often do I know that Your presence is near, but it is so amazing to also know that You are listening to me and answering my prayers. There is nothing more powerful than Your mighty hand upon our lives. We can go through many different avenues seeking for help, but all these things are temporary until we find eternal fulfillment in You. We can find temporary cures for different things in life, but all this is chance and none of it has a lasting effect on us like You do. Only Your healing hand can take every bit of sickness from our life. You are the one that makes our lives whole again. It does take great faith to be cured, but I know that this is necessary to have Your blessings in our lives. We cannot just be someone that says they believe in You, but do nothing about our faith. This type of faith is dead and needs to be awakened by You, oh God. So many people are slumbering and don’t even realize it. So I pray that You will awaken these people, in Your holy Name, Jesus. May they be lifted up in faith and desire to be prayed over. I also pray that people will confess their sins and be cleansed through Your blood, Jesus. Then, can they be born again in the Spirit and be led to pray for others also in need. You are our deliverer and are simply waiting for people to showcase their faith and invoke Your Name in prayer. Then, can people of all ages be healed and miracles be witnessed. I trust in You, Lord. All the praise and glory to Your holy Name. I love You. Amen.
