It is so important that we choose our friends wisely.  We will either grow closer to God or get distant from Him depending on who we associate with.  If we choose Christian friends we will grow together in the faith.  It is important that we make friends in the faith.  This way we can both learn of Him and grow closer to His Spirit.  The Holy Spirit will abound in us.  We can’t follow Jesus if we are spending our days in the pleasures of the world.  Our hearts won’t be right with Him and our prayers won’t be sincere.  Any friendship with the world is an enemy to God.  We are only pulling ourselves away from God when we have bad influences in our lives.

We need to put God first in our lives.  Give up anything that is holding you back from God.  Come to the Lord and He will give you strength to resist temptation.  He will heal your heart.  He will give you a renewed focus on Him.  It might take a lot of sweat and tears before God but it will be worth it. Humble yourselves before God.  Embrace Him.  Associate with Believers.  Make good friends in the faith.  Let God convict you.   Let Him deliver you from the world.  May the Lord lead you and guide you through the storms of life.  Be strong in Him.  He is our hope and our salvation!

James 4:3,4,7-10
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

My life is dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus to the world. I love the Lord and want everyone to feel the same love. I would feel awful if I kept His joy to myself. For this I write daily devotionals to lead people to Christ. Jesus is the anchor of my soul.
