• The Bible = Original • “Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The Lord of hosts is his name. I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.” (Isaiah 48:1-3) – About 700–681 B.C.
• The Book Of Mormon = Plagiarism • “Hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, or out of the waters of baptism, who swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, yet they swear not in truth nor in righteousness. Nevertheless, they call themselves of the holy city, but they do not stay themselves upon the God of Israel, who is the Lord of Hosts; yea, the Lord of Hosts is his name. Behold, I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them. I did show them suddenly.” (1 Nephi 20:1-3) – About 588–570 B.C
The King James Version of Isaiah, chapter 48, was copied and pasted into the Book of Mormon. This chapter of Isaiah can be found in 1 Nephi, chapter 20. The book of Isaiah and 1 Nephi are also available to read in the next chapters of this book. Details of what took place can be found below…
What Joseph Smith did to the Book of Isaiah will always be remembered by God and His people as plagiarism. It is a forgery, and downplays the importance of God’s Word in the Bible. Thankfully, we have the Dead Sea Scrolls, which confirm the words of the KJV Version of the book of Isaiah. This means that Joseph will be responsible for adding and removing words and phrases from the Bible on judgment day. Looking at the clean version of Isaiah, chapter 48, we read the following. It is written, “hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The Lord of hosts is his name. I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.” (Isaiah 48:1-3) Notice how baptism is not mentioned and how the people rely upon the God of Israel. This is important to remember.
After knowing how Isaiah was written, Joseph Smith still wanted to rewrite this chapter. See for yourself in 1 Nephi, chapter 20, in the Book of Mormon. It is written, “hearken and hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, or out of the waters of baptism, who swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, yet they swear not in truth nor in righteousness. I did show them suddenly.” (1 Nephi 20:1-3) "Waters of baptism" was added, along with “but they do not stay themselves upon the God of Israel”. This is plagiarism in the making when comparing same these verses with the Bible. Therefore, what Joseph Smith did to Isaiah in this chapter and others is damning. He is surely suffering in hell right now as a liar and a false prophet. Amen.
Let us pray: Oh Lord, I pray that people in the Mormon faith will repent of their false beliefs and also give their lives to You. Currently, they are on the path of destruction, but I believe that many of these people can still be saved. All they need to do is hear the truth of the gospel message of the cross and resurrection. Then, by the power of the Holy Spirit, they would resign from their cult once and for all. I am grateful for the people You have led out of the Mormon church and into a good Bible-believing church. Thank You for helping me be part of this. I didn’t do any of this myself, but as I opened my mouth You filled it with words to speak. I am so grateful, God, for the giftings of the Spirit in my life. I am able to do things I never thought were possible. Lord, wherever You lead me, I will go. I am grateful to my friend Patrick, who partners with me when I do mission trips to Utah twice a year. Our desires are to reach Mormons for Your sake. Thank You for Sean also. I've knocked on many doors with him and have had much success. This is done, in order to lead people to You, Jesus. You have led me to these two individuals for many reasons I will never understand. Thank You for them and other Christians in my life. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
