“And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:17,18)
Jesus told His disciples that the gates of hell would not prevail against His church. This means that an apostasy is ruled out completely. People have gone astray, but His church has continued to stay strong over the centuries. As Jesus is the church, and we are His members, it would never fail. People have stopped believing, but His true believers have continued to believe in Him throughout the centuries and unto now. However, Joseph Smith claimed that Jesus told him that His church fell away into apostasy. How the churches are an abomination in His sight. It is written, “I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” (Joseph Smith History 1:19)
This is not God speaking but the devil. Satan has always wanted to tear down the church that Jesus established. This has not worked out until the formation of cults over the centuries like in Mormonism. Those who are LDS believe that Christianity is false, while only their church is true. Saying such things is demonic. As for me and other Christians, we believe what Jesus said and not Joseph Smith. How Christ’s church did not fall away. Paul said it this way. “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.” (1 Corinthians 12:12-14) As these verses imply, the members of Christ’s church exist in many different churches and denominations. We as believers are in all the world. Jesus knows who His true believers are and sorts us out.
The members of Christ’s church have kept the faith and still exist today. Mormons disagree and say that only their church is true, while other churches are of the devil. It is written, “and it came to pass that he said unto me: Look, and behold that great and abominable church, which is the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil. And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the bother is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.” (1 Nephi 14:9) Don’t believe the lies in the Mormon Church. There are corrupt churches out there, like the Mormon church, but Jesus’s church has continued strong over the centuries. The reason why this verse exists is to keep people from joining other churches. This is mind control at its finest. The truth is, Jesus is the only way to salvation, and not religion. Amen.
Let us pray: Oh Lord, it is sad to see a church that would cause people to doubt You and the church You established. It is terrible to see Mormons downplaying the teachings in Christianity. I am talking about the Trinity, heaven and hell, the importance of the cross, and so many other teachings. How can they feel good about their beliefs when the Book of Mormon teaches the opposite? Only the devil would want them to think only their church is true. So he added this to that book also. This evidence strongly suggests that the Book of Mormon originates from Satan. You have taught me this, Lord. Thank You, Jesus. The devil has been trying to take down Your church since it was founded, and He is now winning the souls of every Mormon. Lord, there false prophets are showing them the way instead of You and Your Word, the Bible. If people would put aside their church books and simply read the Bible and pray, their false beliefs would be removed. You can do things, Lord, as to lead people from darkness and into Your light. I trust in You, Jesus. I love You. Amen.
