Characteristics Of The Righteous

Those who are saved have nothing to fear when death takes hold of their lives. Therefore, it is important to know what they are like. They show favor towards others, instead of lifting themselves up in vain glory. They give to the poor and to others who are in need. This is not a burden but something they do without thinking twice. Other people’s needs are more important than their own. They use discretion and speak when the time is right, in order to avoid contention and people getting upset. The evil one cannot influence them as their heart is fixed on Jesus. If you are not already doing this, then get right with God today. As you begin to seek Jesus daily, you will also live for Him. It will be natural for you to live uprightly and righteous in His sight. God will remember your life as you die and enter paradise. David also wrote, “a good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.” (Psalm 112:5-7)

David continued and wrote, “his heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.” (Psalm 112:8-10) Speaking of the righteous, they are this way through their faith in Jesus. They are not afraid of what the devil will throw at them, for the Lord God is their shield. These are people who give to the poor. Meaning, if someone at work doesn’t have something to eat, they offer to get them something without needing anything in return. It also means that we don’t pass by the homeless without offering to feed and pray over them. This is what God desires of us, but only a few people do this. The Lord is able to see His light when we do His will. One day the wicked will see us in paradise and be grieved. They will gnash their teeth as they suffer in the torments of hell, while the righteous feel no pain and have everything they need in paradise. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, thank You for this life and for everything You have done through me up until now. I feel unworthy to have the Most High God with me, but am also encouraged because You want to be with me. Who am I among the billions of people in this world? Your creation is vast and still, You make time for me. Thank You, Jesus. God, I am grateful for the experiences I’ve had up until now with people in need. To feed those who are hungry brings me so much joy. Their happiness is mine also. When I have these encounters it is like money doesn’t matter anymore. Until they have what they need like food and water, I am not happy also. This burden of caring for the needy comes from You. I was so selfish before. My desires came first and helping others, even when asked upon, I always wanted money in return. It is amazing how tides turn when I am in Your right standing. Lord, thank You for turning my wicked heart to follow You. To live for You is what I desire. To trust in the Lord is what I long for. God, forgive me of my sins and lead me from temptation. Protect me from the enemy. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
