In the world we live in, there is much wickedness and only a small amount of righteousness is on display. Therefore, people to pick the ways of God and live for Him are not only few but more blessed than any other person on earth. They may not have the best things in life, but what they do have is the presence of God with them which means everything. Their treasures are not on this earth but in heaven. Many times we are hated because of our strong convictions of Jesus and our desires to share the gospel with as many people as we can. We don’t stand with people who support abortion or homosexuality but shun these wicked practices. We delight in the ways of the Lord, not in the sinful acts of the devil. Therefore, our works for God are on full display and are the fruits of our salvation through faith in Christ. It is written, “blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:1-3) God is the source of our life. If we prosper in any way it is because God has done it through us, not us alone. Praise God for His abundance in our lives, for it is different than what the world has. Even in persecution and trials, we endure in the faith and continue to trust in and praise God.
Those who come to know Jesus and live for Him are the most blessed people in this life and the next. This is because come death there is no fear. They go straight to paradise where Jesus will greet them with a warm welcome. Not only Jesus, our King, will be there, but also His holy angels and other believers that have died in times past. There is no sorrow, pain, or death in this most wonderful place. Soon, our rewards will be given in the judgment. The same cannot be said for the wicked. This includes every person who was not for God but against Him in this life. Even people who straddled the fence and relied on other people’s faith will be counted with the unbelievers and the wicked. Unlike the true believers in God that will humbly bow before Jesus in judgment, these sinners won’t be able to stand because of the fear that will set in their hearts. They will fall down before Jesus and receive their just punishments. It is written, “the ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” (Psalm 1:4-6) Who’s side are you on? Are you ready to give an account to God if you were to die tonight? If not, sincerely fall down upon your knees and confess your sins to Jesus. Ask Him to save you. Then, will the Lord, cleanse you through His blood and forgive you. His mercy is for us, my friends. Amen.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will come to know You for salvation before their short life comes to an end. Truly, this life comes and goes so quickly. We are here one day and gone the next. You have created me for this time and place on earth. I am grateful to have had my parents, siblings, spouse, children, friends, and other people in this life. You have done a mighty work in and through me these many years and I am so grateful. I confess that I need You every minute and every hour of each day. Without You, I can do nothing good. My flesh continues to get in the way when I am not seeking Your hand. So I ask that You give me more wisdom than ever before. I confess that the world cannot supply my needs the way You can. You are the giver of all things good and You know I could use some of that now. Give me joy like a river. Give me peace that is beyond understanding. Give me wisdom that I might see and walk in Your ways. Give me what You desire for my life. Help me. Walk beside me. My desires are to walk with You and know You personally as my Lord and Savior. When my time has come, take me home, Lord. I am ready for the rewards judgment seat for the righteous. I have tried to help people come to know You, but at the same time have come many laughers and scoffers. These are the wicked and sinners that will have to pay dearly come death and hell. I don’t want anyone that I know and love to go there, so open their eyes today to know You, Jesus. I love You, Lord. I praise You. Amen.
