One of the many false beliefs in Mormonism is that the Father has a body of flesh and bones like unto His Son, Jesus Christ. They even believe that the Father was once a Savior of His own planet before being exalted to Godhood. These teachings on the Father is blasphemy as we will learn next. For one, Jesus said that the Father is Spirit only, and because He is Spirit He is able to indwell in His Son. These teachings from the Bible blow these false teachings about the Father out of the water. So let’s now look at what Jesus said one a at a time. Concerning His visit with the woman at the well, Jesus said, “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:22-24) Therefore, true worshippers of God worship the Father in Spirit, for he is Spirit. Jesus also speaks against Mormonism since they worship the Father as a created being with a body, which is false.
As for the Father dwelling in the Son, it is written, “Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.” (John 14:8-11) It is Jesus’s desire for every believer in Him to also believe that the Father dwells in Him. This can only be true in the Father is a Spirit, of which he would be able to dwell in His Only Begotten Son. Let this sync in for a moment. If you are a Mormon, you cannot believe what your leaders are teaching you about the Father having a body like unto His Son, and also say you believe what Jesus says. So who will you believe? Jesus or Mormon prophets? I choose Jesus, for only He is the way to heaven and not men. What will you do? Amen.
Let us pray:
I come to You, Father, in worship and praise. Come and dwell in me as You dwell in the Son. Have Your way in Me, God. Thank for providing a Savior for us through Jesus. He was promissed to come into the world hundreds of years before He was born and so many people died before seeing His day. I am sure that people would have loved to see their Messiah first hand while on earth, as I wish I had the same opportunity. However, the next best thing is to see Jesus after I die and go up into paradise. Where You dwell, Father, is also where Jesus dwells. This is the place I want to be forever. Dwell with me now and have mercy for my soul. Keep me in Your right standing, that I might be known by You. I only desire to build up my treasures in heaven while on earth. Everything else is done for a time, but what I do for You is for all eternity. Have Your way in my life, my wife, and two daughters. As You have saved me through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus, save them in the same way. I have been witnessing to them for many years now and would love to see them commit their lives to You. I love You, Father. You are my King. Amen.
AMEN1 John 14:8-11 is exactly what I was thinking of today in reference to the Father indwelling the Son. Praise God!
