There are people that proclaim to be Christians but are really wolves in sheep’s clothing. They may appear on the surface to be good, but inwardly they are vial sinners just like people in the world, which are leading many people astray by their wicked lifestyle. Even some appear to be religious and act this way when their heart has no place for God. All they have is a man-made religion, but have not gained that personal relationship with the Lord that is needed for salvation. What is sad is that people like this are really unsaved and do more grief in the lives of true Christians than not. They may even say some pretty hurtful things while spreading lies, which causes many to go astray. This is so evil and God warned us long ago to be weary of these people. Paul said, “and that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me.” (Galatians 2:4-6) These types of people are not for God but against Him. Don’t always trust every person you meet, but find out who they really are, while leading them to Jesus.
Although people may say some hurtful things to me and other good Christians, as long as we trust in Jesus, we will not be hindered by the wicked. For God is our strength, even when our flesh is weak He builds us up and leads us to green pastures. As for my life, I only want to do things that please God now and not myself any longer. If anything that I am doing grieves the Spirit, I want to know what it is right away, that I might repent and get right with God. Therefore, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (Galatians 2:20,21) There are things that my flesh desires to do in this life that I know goes against God. I have even fallen many times. On the surface, things look so pleasing to the eye. My flesh is aroused in the moment, but my conscience is also severely seared at the same time. Though I achieved a sense of euphoria, I knew deep down that I did something that really hurt my relationship with God. Therefore, I no longer wish to hurt Him or the Holy Spirit again. I know that God has forgiven me of my sins, so to live for Him now is what my soul desires. I only wish to have God’s presence in my life now, for He brings me the greatest joy of all.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that I and other Christians will continually heed Your every desire for our lives. Help us to put You first, that our ears may be open to hearing Your message. May our hearts be open to know You more. And may our feet be ready to go where You lead us. Our eyes are often closed off to Your desires but are wide open to what the world is offering. We jump at the next best thing to buy but stand still when You tell us to do something. I know that I am no different than other people when I am not seeking Your presence. But I have learned from the past that pleasure in the moment is not worth it, especially if I am found sinning against my great God. Yes, Lord, You are great and I respect You. You are with me now and I pray that I will never leave You again. I need Your presence with me at all times to be safe. The enemy is like a roaring lion, ready to take down as many people that come His way. Only You can stand forth and fight Him off. So build me up even more so than before in Your armor. His fiery darts will have no more impact upon me when I am found seeking Your hand instead. It is when I veer off the path that I find myself helpless as a deer. You are my God and my strength. Give me words to speak and enlighten me with Your wisdom. Guide my feet to where I need to go in this life. Help me to do what You have called me to do. If there are any more spiritual giftings that I have not gone after, bring them to my attention. I am Yours, God, and You are mine. I love You, Jesus. Amen.
