How amazing it is when the Lord God calls for us and we begin to listen to Him for the first time. Our minds are opened and He is finally able to speak to our hearts. It is then that we are able to find our way home in life and have no more need to fear. His peace has come and hope is restored in our lives. For the first time our lives are at peace. This experience seems out of this world good and changes everything we knew about this life. We begin to think in a totally different way. Even our ways begin to change, because of the influence of the Holy Spirit. We don’t want to do anything that will defile ourselves and lead us away from God. The bond that we have with Him is too great and leaving that behind for the things of this world seems ludicrous. Our lives are then conformed unto God and His ways are most important. As God did for the children of Israel, He puts us also on His back and carry’s us forward in life. In God’s own words He would say, 1“how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.” (Exodus 19:4-6) He has surely been the one to lead and guide us. It is heeding his voice that leads us to safety. But don’t forget to continue in the faith and never turn back. Continuing to obey what God has said in His Word and in prayer will set you apart from others. As He said, you will become a very peculiar treasure unto Him, above all men. Those that abide in Him throughout their lives are a part of His majestic kingdom.
I pray that you will heed what God told Moses, when he said, 1“go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes.” (Exodus 19:10) The children of Israel were supposed to do this, in order to be ready to receive the Lord, the third day that Moses had gone into Mount Sinai. It was that day that the people would be ready to see the glory of God in the mountain and later receive the ten commandments after they were given to Moses. Until they did this, the people would not be ready to see God’s glory and even understand God’s commandments, as their hearts would not be ready spiritually to walk in them. So 1“it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder.” (Exodus 19:16-19) How amazing was this, for them to see the glory of God and also be ready to receive Him that day. May you also be washed by the blood of Jesus and receive Him, this day. Only through His blood can you be sanctified. Then, will you know what is means to walk in His light and no longer stumble, because of the lusts of the flesh. This changes everything and our lives are turned to God.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that all people that desire to know You will come unto You with a humble heart, and receive You fully this day. May there be no more putting aside this important step for another day, but be real with You and accept what You did for us, Jesus, on the cross. Then, will we be sanctified and made righteous before You. I know that You want to teach us, but we can’t be ready to do what You have said until we have been redeemed by Your blood. Our hearts are not ready until this point. Your ways are higher, but our flesh is weak. Therefore, sanctify us and wash us clean. Cleanse our heart and mind from evil fault we have done. Have forgiveness upon us Lord. We desire Your mercy and trust in You. Help us to be ready to heed Your counsel and walk in You ways. You are my God and I love You. I trust that whatever You have planned for my life, that is important. I’d rather be saved in Your kingdom, then to continue in my own flesh and sin. I need Your Spirit to resurrect me and help me turn from my sins. This way, my life will be strengthened by Your hand and I will be ready to stand up against the enemy. Your light is what I need to scatter the darkness and escape the temptations of the evil one. Thank You for washing me Lord, of all my sins. Because of this, Your ways have become delight-some in my mind and all I want to do is obey Your commandments. They have become a lamp unto my feet and I am so happy. So have Your way within me, all the days of my life. Help me to endure in the faith and not turn away. I love You more than anything else. Amen.
