My soul sings to my Lord and my God. I am lifted up by the beauty of Jesus, my King. I am in awe at His mercy and grace. Many years have I strayed from His presence and done things that are awesome in His sight but still He has never given up on me. I ran so far and did things that my soul knew were wretched but God’s love never failed. In my moments of sadness and distress, I felt like His judgements were already upon me. I never thought an almighty God could ever take back a sinner such as I. But then it happened, much like David did, I ran to my God in prayer and supplications and began to poor my heart out to Him. As David said, my soul also cried out, 1“have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.” This prayer is what I needed, for God’s presence came over me. It was as if His loving arms had taken me in and my worries and doubts were over. He had me and I knew He would never let me down. All praise Him!
Our Lord God is so merciful and kind. His compassion and love has no end. Till the end of time does He search for us and wish that we would return to Him. His loving arms are stretched out wide, if we just respond we would see His love. There is rest in Jesus and all our cares and burdens are no more. This I know for Jesus has changed my life. My life was upside down and He raised me from death unto life. Only our gracious God could do this. As David said, my heart only wished that God would do the following for me also. 1“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” 1“O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.” And this You have done God. You have come inside of me and given me a clean heart. No more am I led in darkness but have Your light to guide me. Thank You for Your forgiveness and for trusting in me still. I sing to You, Lord, sweet songs of praise. Oh how I love and adore You. Be ever near me and never leave my side. I am Yours. You are my God and I will honor You until the end of my days. You are praised!
