We are to remember the Lord Jesus all the yearlong, every day. So remember to share the love of Jesus not just during Christmas. It may seem more convenient at this time of year, because of all the manger scenes on display and the many songs of Jesus’s birth on the radio, however, Jesus should always be remembered. The things that are on display for Jesus are wonderful and all, but it saddens me to the core when Jesus is often forgotten in the world, after the fact. It is like the people are no longer interested and then do their own things. Even on Christmas morning, the day that we are supposed to be remembering Jesus and His glorious birth, this is often not the case, for presents take His place. Can’t you see the issue here? And if you are caught up in all of this then repent. Can’t you see the problem in your life? 2Jesus did not say to love Him for a time, but to, instead, love Him and our neighbor with all our heart, might, mind and strength. I am sorry, but your faith is dead if this is not the case. If you truly loved Jesus then it would manifest in how you lived your lives for Him. Your faith would have you remember Him each day and to seek His counsel. This would then manifest in how you lived your life and did His will. There is no other way to salvation but through Jesus Christ, however, most people lose out on this and instead walk on a path, that is good for them and not God.
Every person that walks apart from God will be in trouble come judgement day. They will hear the words, 1“I never knew you”. Even so called Christians will be in this group, for they never made Jesus the king of their life. They didn’t obey His commandments and therefore didn’t love Him either. As Jesus said, 3“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Therefore, to simply believe and not do His will is not faith at all. He continues, 3“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” Therefore, not remembering God throughout the year and living a life apart from Him is keeping ourselves from the Lord. This belief in Christ is more than just words but a lifestyle. We allow the Lord to come inside of us and use us for His kingdom. Jesus said it better when He said, 3“He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do”. Therefore, our faith will have works, if it is alive. Think about your life and the path that you are on. Know that Jesus is the reason why we have life. Therefore, cling to Him every day of your lives. If you say that you are His then mean it. This should mean more to you than anything else in your life. Give Jesus your heart and love Him enough to obey His commandments. This is a life of faith.
Let us pray:
Lord God, I pray that people will remember You always. May this time of year not just be their excuse to go to church and read the story of your birth but may every person that says they believe also live out their faith throughout the year. It isn’t enough for them to showcase their faith at times and live for the world other times. I know that when I was living like this, I was never happy. There was addiction in my life and I could not deflect the temptations of the Devil. I felt very shameful and wretched. Especially when I thought of how You must have thought of me, I felt so down and depressed. If I just knew that You were reaching for me, all the day long, things would have been better. However, I chose to live this way for many years on my own and times were very rough. My decisions left my wife and everyone hanging in the back drops. My marriage almost crumbled before me, until You, God, came to my rescue. In my weakest moments I came to You and You brought me peace. You took me in and brought me the greatest comfort of all. I had no way to change my life on my own but You were able to break those chains and all the bondage is gone. I am free because of Your great love for me. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. I am so grateful for Your forgiveness. My hope is in You. I live my life for You, Jesus. Have Your way with me. I love You. Amen.
