Only those that trust in the Lord have true vision. These people see God’s commands and delight in following them. They don’t blindly follow what the world offers but seek first the Lord in prayer and in His Word, the Bible, that they may know the way. It is when people do not put God first is when their vision is clouded. These same people then make decisions they wish they didn’t. It is only repentance that will then save them from the judgement bar of Christ. Solomon said, 1“where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” This is so true, as the happiest Christians I’ve ever seen and dealt with are those that are obeying God’s commands and putting Him first in their lives. I can also attest that seeking the Lord helps me to not fall into sin and see clearly where to walk in life. I am not overwhelmed by temptation, for my heart is anxiously engaged in doing God’s work. Truly, being in the light of Jesus, there are less issues with sin and addiction in our lives. However, where my desire for everyone to follow the Lord, I know that this will fall on many deaf ears. This saddens me, for I know that their wickedness will eventually catch up to them, if it is this life or the next. If they could see their fate, they’d see as Solomon saw it. He said, 1“when the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.” The righteous people of God will see the downfall of every unbeliever that do not put their full trust in God.
If people could just realize how evil they have become, and how it affects other people and God, maybe they’d be more willing to change their lives. However, since so many people are lifted up in their pride, they do not see the same wickedness that we can see. But with everything in life, pride will eventually catch up to these people. Solomon said, 1“a man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.” And in these moments, if they heed the counsel of God for their lives, their fear for the worst will turn out to be for their gain. Because their sin became very sinful to them and they feared how God thought of them, this brought them to a point that God could work inside of them. Solomon spoke about this when he said, 1“the fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” The very trap that every sinner gets themselves in can be reconciled with the Lord God. When they give into God, as He pricks their hearts, His mercy is upon them. For every confession is heard and God’s grace is upon those that come unto Him. This is why it is important to follow God’s commands. When He is able to correct us, we are wise. Solomon also said, 1“correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.” When counsel is heard and obeyed, this is when a life change begins. Will you put God first today and humble yourself before Him?
Let us pray:
Lord, we come before You, this day, and declare that we need You. We know that we are a sinner and need Your blood to cover us. We are sorry for putting You off and not seeking You as we should. We know that the things of this world have clouded our minds and that we have hurt You in these things. So many times we have done things that You despise. Please forgive us in all these things. We no longer wish to follow the temptation of the devil but to heed Your commands. We wish to be cleansed of all this wickedness, Lord. Hear our confessions and have mercy upon our souls. We know that You are our Savior and the only person that can save us in this life. Though, we have walked in darkness for so long, we know that You can change our hearts and minds today. So please come now and renew our souls. Bring life into our lives, once again. Give us vision, Lord. Help us know where to walk, in this life. May Your Words, of the Bible, bring clarity to our minds. We trust in You Lord. All things are possible with You in our lives. Surely, we are more than conquerors, for You have saved us from the fall. Our hope is in You, God. We love You. Amen.
