Labor For God

It so important that we labor in the things of God. We all have need of jobs but even in our work place, we ought to be vigilant. Keep the Lord in your heart and in your mind. May you be a shining light for Jesus. We can do so many things on our own but it is never better than what God can do with us. Our labors can either end with earthly rewards or rewards that are extended towards heaven. David wrote, 1“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” It is my prayer that people do not do things in vain. It is so important to allow the Lord to work through us. Our blessings we gain on our own will only last for a moment but God’s blessings are eternal. Build for God’s kingdom. It is possible to work at our jobs and still do God’s will. Have a prayer in your heart always. Ask the Lord to help you know how to act and speak to others. This work will not be in vain. A worker for God’s kingdom is what God desires for each of us that love Him.

When we are living a life for Christ, we will discover the joy of the Lord. We are able to rest from our day without fear or regret, for God’s love is over us. It is God that 1“giveth his beloved sleep.” There is no sorrow but gladness. This abundant joy is what helps us sleep better and rise up early. As parents, God’s gift is children. 1“Children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” The joy we find in the Lord should be passed on to them. It is our privilege to raise our children in the ways of the Lord. It is taught, 2“train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This desire will come naturally, for somebody that loves God and desires to be used by Him. Our love for God is then able to flow from our lives towards others. This love is different than what the world offers. Seek after God’s love and your marriage will flourish. Your family will be richly blessed in the Lord. This type of labor is for God and His kingdom.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that my heart continually is for You and not this world. May I not fall victim to temptation but be led on Your righteous path. May my love for You be extended in the work place and the way I treat my family. I know that greater things can happen with You in my life. Help me to live out my faith. I pray that my labors will not be vain. May You do a work in my life. Help my mind focus on building up Your kingdom. Help me to love my children as You love them. Help me raise them up to know You. May the Spirit of God shine down upon me. Empower me by the Spirit. I pray that You do use me in a big way. Take my hand and carry me forth. My heart is Yours. I love You. Amen.
