Those that live a life for God and not unto themselves are the ones that are blessed on earth and in heaven. The Word of God says, 1“blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.” Yes, it is true that our lives can reflect the ways of the Lord. We do have the power to walk outside our fleshly nature and, instead, walk in the light of Jesus. God truly desires that we love Him more than the things of this world. He wants to be the centerpiece of our lives. In doing so, we are able to walk differently and not give in so easily to sin. Through the presence of God, we are able to walk blamelessly. Temptation will not easily take us down for the presence of God is in our lives. David continues speaking, 1“blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.” We are blessed, as we keep the commandments and teachings of God. His blessings rain down upon us, as we are abiding in Him and serve the Lord. I say serving, for in the Lord, our hearts will move to love and serve Him. Our lives will be a testimony of our great love for Jesus. The only way this can truly happen is if we do seek after God on a daily basis. Read the Bible and pray often. This way, the Lord can speak to your mind and give you wisdom and direction. But know that He can only do so when your heart is open and you’ve given Him your whole heart.
The Bible is true. What the Word of God declares is nourishment to our ears. We gain hope for a new day. We gain insight on how to walk with the Lord and not in our earthly pleasures. Seek after God and He will help you walk differently. His light will shine forth in your life for all to see. Surely, the glory of God can be manifested in a life for Christ. God’s Word declares that His elect 1“do no iniquity” for 1“they walk in his ways.” There is a big difference between living for God and living for the flesh. Not only can God see the difference in our lives but other people can as well. You will know if you are not abiding in Christ. The life we choose to live will either lead us to heaven or hell. Know that the commandments of God are important. You delight the Lord as You obey His laws. We are commanded to walk after Him and keep His precepts diligently. Will you commit now to follow Jesus and do as He says? If your heart is open, say this to God with me, 1“O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.” This desire to serve the Lord will be filled. All it takes is our willing heart to follow the Lord and He will make it happen in a big way. Now go forth and live for God. Do not forsake Him but seek after Him often.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, only You can lead me away from the lusts of the flesh. My flesh is weak but I am strong with You. I am not easily tempted for You are there to build me up. My faith is my weapon to fight against sin. Only You could build me up to fight against temptation. A life built around can do great things. I know this to be true. Nobody else could give me the will power to live apart from the world. Your love is stronger and has willed me to change my life. I would be so lost without Your love. You have built me up that I may not stumble. My life of sin is over. You have come to rescue me and I am cleansed through Your blood. Your mercy has set me free. Thank You Lord. Oh how I love Your ways. I love Your commandments. They are a delight to my soul. Teach me of Your ways. Give me guidance that I might continue faithful till the end. I love You. Amen.
