Surely the Lord has laid out a righteous path for us to follow. If we but heed His voice, we will know which way to go. The right way will not be hidden but lit up before us. The Bible is what teaches us how to live a life for Christ. We can always know if we are on the right path by reading God’s Word. As David wrote, 2“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” It surely gives me wisdom and fills my soul with gladness. I know the way, for God is directing me through His Words. His teachings are made known. My desire to follow them is enforced. It is not a struggle to follow the Lord but a privilege. The more we read and pray, the more natural it will become in our day to day life. We won’t think twice about finding time for God in His Word. It won’t even escape our mind to keep the Lord in our thoughts. We will delight in following the Lord and His commandments. 3We abide in the doctrines of Christ, for they lead us to Him. 1“Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.” When we truly take heart to God’s laws and bow down before the living God, we are truly serving our king. In honor and reverence do we take His teachings to heart and act on them.
God’s people may not be tall in stature and be highly known but still they have great power. Through the name of Jesus, they can do great things. David taught, 1“His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.” Even our descendants can know Jesus by following in our footsteps. We can leave a legacy for following Christ the Lord. Lead by example, of a faith in Christ, and people won’t help but see the light of Jesus inside of you. 1“Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.” Without the Spirit of God in our lives, we are all in danger. There is no right way to follow without Jesus in our lives. There is only darkness. Only Jesus can cast out the darkness and lead us into His light. He does this because of His love for us. The Lord is so kind and full of compassion. His mercy endures forever. Only God can lead our affairs in holiness. 1“The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance” of God’s love for them. His peace will be with those that trust in Him. The heart of His people is established and they 1“shall not be afraid”. 1“The wicked shall perish” 1“and be grieved”, but His people shall be saved and find everlasting joy in heaven.
Let us pray:
Thank You Lord for laying out the truth of the gospel. Your words have given me hope. I now have a light to follow, that I might be safe. You have opened my eyes to the truth. Thank You Lord. Your Words truly are a lamp unto my feet. I am guided by the teachings, found in the Bible. Thank You for showing me the way. I once struggled to live a good life. I did not know what way was right and what was wrong. I was blinded. Your Words have taken the blinders off my eyes. I now know what Your desires are, oh Lord, and my heart is to follow You. Whatever You have for my life, I will do it. I trust in You. I know longer wish to walk in darkness but forever be in Your glorious light. Help me to always keep You in my remembrance. I love You. Amen.
