There are times when we feel like we have hit rock bottom. Everything was so good. We didn’t see this coming. Nothing we do seems to fix our problems. The pain is too hard to bear. It’s in these times that people tend to ask for help in the wrong places. Rachel was so upset about not bearing any children and said, “Give me children, or else I die!”. When other women are having babies and for some reason you have been left barren I can just imagine the pain you are feeling. In our darkest times we say things we don’t always mean. We act out because our heart is swollen from within. The only person that has power to give us peace is the Lord. We can only get so much assistance from family and friends. God is just waiting for us to come to Him through prayer. With the touch of His hands He can heal our hearts. All of our pains can be over in an instant. He is a God of miracles. Open your heart and let His kindness radiate within you.
As we turn away from our self and give everything to God we will begin to feel the Lord in our lives. His love will break down all of our chains that have kept us bound. Our shame will become undone. We will no longer blame but give thanks to God for His mercy. The Lord will begin to use us to do good towards others. Our experiences can be used in a positive way to help another escape the clutches of sin. We may not know exactly what to say but the best thing we can do is to lead them to Christ. Jesus can do the rest. Once someone is open to hearing the message of God a miracle can take place in their life. The Lord can heal our hearts if we just let Him in. When Rachel put her trust in God she bore a son and gave thanks to God. Oh Lord, when times are hard I know I can trust in You. You have been there time and time again for me. Whenever I need You, You are there. Thank You for your great love for me. I love You and praise You.
Genesis 30:1-2,22-24
1 Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister, and said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I die!”
2 And Jacob’s anger was aroused against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”
22 Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.
23 And she conceived and bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.”
24 So she called his name Joseph, and said, “The Lord shall add to me another son.”
