We must be honest in all things. The Lord’s love can’t be in our lives if we are lying to people. Being deceitful drives away the Holy Spirit. God loves us and can still see good in us, but we must be willing to change. If we continue to cheat others than it is a lonely road ahead. Those that continue to lie with no disregard of others are slowly driving the Lord away. Often I wonder how someone can blatantly lie to a love one just to get what they want? I can just imagine the thoughts going through the minds of these people. They think that what they are doing will bring them more happiness. However, all it does is leave the person wanting more. They are never full for they never find true joy in their hearts. If they just looked around them they’d discover that there was joy all along. Their family cared for them. They had a job that brought food to the table. They had the health they needed to be strong. They had a good conscious that led them to make good choices. And if they were in prayer with God, they had the Lord on their side. Love was all around them if they just opened their eyes to see.
How can someone give up a life of joy with the Lord for earthly wealth or pleasure? How low does a person need to go, to commit these crimes? When someone goes out of their way to steal from another there is only envy in their heart. Greed has entered in and clouded all the true joy that was in their life. The love of God was overtaken by lustful cravings. If you are mixed up in a web of lies, turn to God. There is no need to run and hide. There is a way out. The Lord can open a path for you to come clean. Bring your brokenness to God. His Love can heal your heart. How mercy is awaiting you. Confess your sins to God and you shall be free from shame. Telling the truth may seem daunting but it feels amazing once it is off our chest. The weight of the world is over. If we’re honest, our life will change for the better. We must repent each day and ask the Lord for forgiveness. For we are all sinners and have a need for a Savior. The Lord is our healer. Rely on Him and He will make you right before Him. True joy will overtake all your sadness. His peace will rest upon your troubled hearts.
Genesis 27:18-24
18 So he went to his father and said, “My father.” And he said, “Here I am. Who are you, my son?”
19 Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn; I have done just as you told me; please arise, sit and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me.”
20 But Isaac said to his son, “How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son?” And he said, “Because the Lord your God brought it to me.”
21 Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.”
22 So Jacob went near to Isaac his father, and he felt him and said, “The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.”
23 And he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy like his brother Esau’s hands; so he blessed him.
24 Then he said, “Are you really my son Esau?” He said, “I am.”
