Give To Those In Need

There are so many people that are in need. It breaks my heart when I see someone on the street with almost nothing. A lot of them don’t have hardly any clothes, are starving or shivering in the cold. I know many of you say you love God but does that love translate into caring for the needy? Do you love God enough to give up everything for Him? Does your love for God translate into giving to others? These people are desperate for our help. Even if we don’t have a whole lot of money, can you afford buying them lunch? Would you be willing to give them your clothing or shoes? We need to think past ourselves and be engaged with what the Lord desires. If we are to be true followers of Jesus we need to walk in His ways. Our actions should reflect the love we have for Jesus.

Oh Lord, I will no longer drive or walk by those that are in need. I will love my neighbor just as I love You. When I see any that are homeless or in need I will reach out to them. I will feed them and offer any food that they need. I will give them clothing and blankets that they may be warm. If I have money I will give it to them. I will share a message of hope, that comes only through Jesus with them. I will pray with them that they may have the things they need in life. All that I have is because of You Lord. I live my life to follow You. I will go where you want me to go. Thank You for giving your life for me that I might be saved. I surrender all that I have to You. I love You in words and in deeds. I give everything to You. You fulfill my soul.

1 John 3:16-18
16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
