Many false religions have idols of stone and wood, and the most popular are Hinduism and Buddhism. There many gods come in different forms, many with a full body but never speaking. People come and pray to them, but they never receive answers to their prayers. The same thing happens in Catholicism. Catholics make all kinds of idols for Mary and the Saints, of which never talk and do nothing to help them when they pray. For each of these false religions, their idols act in the fashion that David describes here. “Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not.” (Psalm 115:2-5) This is spoken very clearly about idols that cannot do anything for us, but lead us away from God.
David continued and said, “they have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.” (Psalm 115:6-8) The truth of the matter is that every person who trusts in man-made idols is not of God, but are idolaters, and will be judged accordingly. Speaking of judgment, all idolators shall have their part in the lake of fire. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8) For this reason, I ask that every Catholic, Buddhist, and believer in Hinduism put away their idols for God’s sake. Amen.

Oh Lord, I pray that every person who is an idolator now will repent. Do they not realize that they are breaking Your first and second commandments, which say “thou shalt have no other gods before”, and “thou shalt not make any graven image nor bow down to them”? I can understand how people who say they are not Christian would do this, but not those in Catholicism. I feel so sick inside when I see them bowing before Mary and the saints. This is really a despicable and evil act, which they don’t realize they are doing. I can just imagine how this makes You feel, God. The truth is, You speak and are alive, while all these dumb idols do nothing to help anyone. God, why are there so many people who proclaim to know You and still are idolaters inside? This makes no sense. All I can think of is that false doctrines crept into churches, and now people don’t understand what is right anymore. Lord, help these people. There is mercy if they would just confess their sins to You now. Amen.
