When was the last time you told your spouse how beautiful they are? How about the last time you described their beauty to them and saw them blush because of it? I ask, because the times of romance seem to be over for many people that are married and it is a shame. Instead of focusing on their one true love, whom they married, their focus is on other things. Things like phones, tablets, computers and TV are consuming people’s lives and taking them away from not only God but also their beloved spouse. And because of this, their eyes and ears are paying attention to things that only deter themselves from having a loving relationship. Not only does lust come into the picture but also addictions to things that God hates. Things like pornography come into play and therefore break up their relationship entirely. What a bleak world we live in. So much sexual sin, lust and covetousness is consuming people’s lives. And if you are involved with such things, then you are in danger of not only losing your spouse but your salvation with God. So if you are in sin, then come to Jesus and repent today. The things you are choosing to do is ruining your life. It is not worth it. Your spouse and God deserve someone that whole heartedly love them. They need to know that they are your priority in life. And when this happens, the darkness will be scattered and His light will fill the atmosphere.
When God’s love finally comes and rescues you, what you do with your time will dramatically change. The time you focus on God and His will, will not only be elevated, but your time with your spouse will also increase. The way you commune with the Lord will be genuine. The communicate with your spouse will be with true concern. Her needs will become important to you. And the way you speak with her will be with much love. Your actions will also follow. We learn from such a relationship when we read the story of Solomon and his wife in Song of Solomon. You read his story and can’t help but know that their focus was upon one another. Here is just a glimpse from their life, that we can learn from. Chapter 6 reads, 1“Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee. My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies. Thou art beautiful, O my love.” And if you read more, they both go on and on about their love for one another and what they are doing for one another. I share this, because this type of love does and can exist in your marriage. Give your focus to God and your spouse and everything will change for the better. Your relationship will grow like never before.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people’s hearts, ears and eyes will be turned to You and, if married, to their spouse. So many people are wasting their life away doing things that are not pleasing anyone, especially their spouse. When their focus is on electronic devices and the TV, it is only drawing them away from what is most important in their life. Not only are You neglected, God, but their beloved spouse is also left out of the picture. And what these people are replacing in their lives with is really disgusting. Lord, not only are people neglecting their You and their spouse but also filing their lives with so much lust, covetousness and sexual sin. I know how bad these things are since I was a victim of such things. You know God, better than I do, how such filth almost destroyed my marriage. It is truly a miracle God, that my wife stuck with me, since that time. I give You all the praise and her thanks for being there for me when I needed it most. You lifted me up and brought me out of the darkness and she continued to trust in me. Although I had fallen short, I knew that my life was not over yet. I could still get back on track with You, God, and my wife. I love You and my wife more than ever now. Thank You Lord. Amen.
