Whatever the Lord asks of you, give it to Him. He knows what we need and don’t need. There are things in our lives that bring Him great happiness and other things that bring Him great sadness. How often do people think that they are doing good for the Lord but really are only doing things for their own good. But how can we know what God needs from us? How can we do His will? God’s will for mankind is recorded in the Holy Bible. Every word can speak to our hearts for the words are alive. We can know the teachings of Jesus and how to abide in His holiness by reading the Word of God daily. When the words speak to your heart, come to the Lord in prayer. Listen to the Spirit and obey. Think on God’s Word and do what the Lord directs. 1“Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” To walk in the favor of our God is necessary for salvation. How can we expect eternal life in heaven if we are not for Him. If our lives are contrary to His will then we are more so lovers of the flesh than God. The Lord’s kingdom does not suit a person’s sinful nature. To be a part of God’s family we are to walk apart from sin and in His Spirit. Only by putting up our shield of faith can we withstand the temptations of Satan and walk in the holiness of God.
If you say you trust in God, then your life will also demonstrate this. Your willingness to serve Him will be noticed. Your desire to put aside things that don’t give God glory will be shown. God knows who is for Him for they have given Him full access to their lives. No matter their sin, they’ve given it all to God that they may be made clean. To walk in His presence is more important than anything the world could offer. His blessings bring them great joy. So much so, that nothing can match the goodness that God gives to them. In prayer, the faithful servants of God can feel His matchless presence. David said, 1“The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.” In these times of reflecting on God’s great love, His power is shown. There is power in the Name of Jesus. When people call out His Name, peace and love will fill the atmosphere. Know that Jesus loves us so much. He never wanted us to be alone. Therefore, as we read the Bible we can continually be comforted and have direction from God. This is why we must read the Bible daily to know what God has for our lives. Bible study and prayer go hand in hand, in order to develop a deep relationship with the Lord. Cherish every minute you have with God.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, Everything You desire, I am happy to receive it. No matter if Your will is that I change my life, I will do so. Whatever Your counsel is for me, I receive it in thanks. I can only go so far on my own in life. I need You to show me the rest of the way. Be my guide, in this treacherous life. My flesh is weak, on my own. I will more easily fall flat on my face in sin if you are not with me. Lift me up so that I may not fall. Keep me in Your holiness, Oh God. I no longer wish to backslide but be firm in Your faith. Keep my heart pure and holy. I cannot be good on my own but with You in my life, You can help me be better. I love You. Amen.
