It was amazing to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the people of downtown Boise. It was very special tonight as the Holy Spirit was so strong within me. It was like I was more in tune than usual with what the Lord wanted for me. When I spoke, I could feel Him speaking through me. Every word just flowed so easily out of my mouth. We started off speaking to this gentlemen who had a Christian background but wasn’t currently in the faith. He said he was finding his own way in life and trying to love others, in doing so. He felt pressured into going to church in the past so that left him with a bad taste in his mouth for religion. Our message for him was to discover the Lord for himself. To be open to Jesus and to read the Bible. That only by following Jesus can we be saved. We prayed with Him and asked him to consider the things we talked about, and he obliged. Down the street we gave out some tracks and devotional cards to many that were interested. This gentlemen told us how He is discovering Jesus in His life so I offered him a Bible, which he accepted. Than we talked with this couple. The guy had hurt his wrist and his vocal chords were shot. So I prayed over him for healing in the name of Jesus. His wife was feeling depressed with verses she was reading in the Bible. In talking to her, I told her that this is God tugging at her heart for things she may need to change in her life and to act on these feelings. To pray and ask God what he means when she reads. We encouraged both of them to give God at least five to ten minutes, each day, in the Bible and to pray often. It was amazing to see their willingness to do these things.
We walked a little ways down the road and met up with this group of teenagers, sitting down on the side of the road. We told them that we were out talking about Jesus with people and gave them each tracts and cards. We taught that we are all fallen because of sin and are separated from God. That we would be doomed forever in hell if Jesus hadn’t paid the price for our sins on the cross. Since Jesus redeemed us from our sins he has created a bridge from death to life, if we accept Him in our hearts. Before we left, we encouraged them all to seek Jesus for He is the only way to salvation. We also encouraged them to read the Bible. Down the road we met this guy named Nick. Upon meeting with Him I told him that we were sharing the love of Jesus with people. He said that was awesome since he was born Christian but didn’t see many around. To start off, I encouraged him to share the love of Jesus with others. That whatever we do for the least of these my brethren we do it unto Him. That when the love of Jesus is in our hearts God encourages us to share it with others. To share the good news of the cross. That because of His great love for us all, we can be forgiven of our sins. As I was talking, He spoke out and said, “I want to give my life to Jesus now.” So we put our arms around Him and, in prayer, He gave his life to Jesus and asked him in his heart. After the prayer, he said he was feeling way better than ever before. He said it was like his burdens were lifted off his shoulders. He said he could feel the Holy Spirit rush into his heart. That he had fallen away from God but was grateful to meet us to help him come back to Him. Thank You Lord for using us this day to find the lost. This was a very special day indeed to see Nick give his life to You. Thank You for speaking though us. I love You.
Matthew 10: 19,20 (KJV)
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
