Cry unto the Lord when in trouble. Don’t lean upon yourself and others alone, but know that God wants to help you. He has come to my rescue and millions of others also. As we are distressed because of the hardships of this world, He gives us rest. The Father is a prayer away from help. When we feel burdened because of our sins, God gives us the strength to overcome them. The Father sent His Word, Jesus, to rescue us, but only a few people listen to God when He calls. We were on the brink of destruction, but God loves us so much as to intervene in our lives. The Lord is our rescuer and our strong tower. David wrote, “then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” (Psalm 107:19-21)
Just think about what Jesus has done for us. The Father sent the Word and He became flesh. The Son of Man lived a perfect life and was even willing to allow evil men to crucify Him. Through His death, an atonement was made for our sins. This sacrifice was once and for all. Receive Jesus into Your life and His mercy and forgiveness is for you. Now, if God has come into your lives and you are saved, then think upon Him now. It is up to us to remember God and also give Him thanks. He has done so much for each one of us, so why not praise Him? God is good and showcases His wonderful works to us on a daily basis. I am often left in awe at what God has done for me. How are you feeling right now? Is God in your life also? If so, then openly praise Him for His goodness and grace. If God is not so near but distant, call upon the name of Jesus. Confess your sins openly and ask that He come into Your life, and He will. Amen.
Let us pray:
Thank You, Jesus. I give You praise and honor. You deserve the glory. Have Your way in my life. Forgive me of my sins. So often my mind is focused on what it shouldn’t be. What I think will fulfill my life doesn’t. And so covetousness and lust comes and goes. Change comes only when I call upon You, Jesus, for help. Truly, I am incapable of living up to Your standards on my own. I have tried, but I cannot keep standing without falling on my face in an abundance of sin and grief. Lord, help me to never do this again. When I am weak, You are the one that gives me strength to carry on. This world is hard and sometimes we just need some answers also. So God, hear the prayers in my heart now. Give e wisdom on what needs to happen next in my life. Heal me of my sicknesses and show Yourself to others in my family. God, You are everything I need. I was lost until You found me. Come and stay a while. You are welcome in my house and in my life. I love You, Lord. Be with me now and until I see You face to face in heaven. Amen.
There is no better friend than Jesus.
