Our Lives Are Numbered Before God

God can see deep into our souls. There is nothing hidden in His sight. If we think we have hidden things from God, we are mistaken. All those years that we have covered our iniquities under the rug, while justifying them, God’s wrath is upon us. Confession is what God asks of us, although many people make light of this. The truth is, the average person dies around the age of 70 years old. This is what David meant when he said, “our years are threescore years and ten”, or 60 plus 10 years. David also mentioned “fourscore” years, which means 80 years. No matter when we go, our spirits will fly away into the light or darkness. David wrote, “thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” (Psalm 90:8-10)

This life is short, and therefore, to know God now is so important. We may never have an opportunity to repent later. Many people say that tomorrow they will get right with God, but today they will have fun and enjoy the ride. However, their lives came to a close early because of a car accident, drug overdose, and/or something else. They didn’t realize it but God’s anger was upon them, of which they will come to know when they cross over into darkness and into hell. Therefore, it is important to number our days. This way, we will not live for tomorrow, but for today. Our hearts will be set apart to learn from God. This way our walk with Him will be upright. David continued and said, “who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Psalm 90:11,12) My friends, those who love Jesus also live for Him. These are those who will die and go into the light and into paradise. God will send His angels to guide us. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people will begin to live their lives for You. This life is short and the majority of people are wasting their days living for the flesh. It is very sad when I go to funerals where people have died because of an overdose, drinking and driving, partying, and venereal diseases, which come from homosexual and outside-marriage sexual relations. My heart’s desire is to see fewer people like this go to hell and into paradise. This is why I spend my days witnessing to the lost. Do most people listen to what I have to say to them? No. However, if even one out of the ninety and nine come to You in faith, then my joy is fulfilled. Lord, here is my prayer for people who will soon die. I pray that they will have warnings up until their last breath. Continue to cause their conscience to be seared, so that more people will be sorry for their sins. They are so close to either winning the prize of eternal life or losing their souls in hell. Help them know this. I pray that fewer people will lose their souls in the end. I love You, Jesus. Amen.

  1. Amen. I’ also pray that the lost will hear that still, small voice of the Holy Spirit leading them to Christ. I have been to one funeral where there was no apparent hope for that poor soul. I hope to never have to go to another one. Conversely, I’ve gone to several Celebrations of the Life of a departed Saint. What blessings those celebrations were.
