We know that while we are on earth we can’t fully be with God. There is still a separation from us and His literal presence because of our flesh. We can abide in His spiritual presence when we are not living in sin. This we do as we call upon God in prayer, who is the Lord God most high. It is in these times that our souls are filled up with His goodness and grace. He has forgiven those who believe and trust in Him. We are no longer bystanders and lost in this world, but are brought into His house, that we might be His people. Even His sons and daughters. Now, we know that this is the time to prepare to meet our God in person someday. For we will all come before Jesus, who is Lord, someday in judgment, and I pray that will be accepted in His sight. Therefore, we are to live each day for the Lord, that when we do die, we can be confident that we will be right in His sight and not be found guilty. Paul also speaks of this and says, “therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:6-8) Yes, before the resurrection, while in our spirit form, we will come before the Lord in judgment. All will bow down before Him, but unfortunately, only a few will be accepted in His sight.
Paul continued and said, “wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” (2 Corinthians 5:9-11) Do you not know that God can see everything you do in this life? Things we think were done in secret are seen before God in His throne. Our deeds are written down and even the number of times we have transgressed against God, who is the king of glory. The angels are round about God in the heavens and are also taking note of the things we do in our everyday walk. They being good or bad will be made manifest unto us on judgment day. Therefore, what causes people to continue to defy God’s commands? We know very well that a life that goes against God, tells Him that we don’t want anything He offers. That is why people must realize the terror of the Lord and repent, while they still have time. Jesus is our God and our judge, who wants to save every person who would call upon His Name. Even then, can He help those people change their lives and build them up to fight for His kingdom and against the schemes of the enemy.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, my God. I trust in You. You the God of the heavens and the earth. All creation bows down before Your glory. If not now, the wicked will bow down come judgment day. Even on that dreadful day will they see the God of the universe and fall down and plead for mercy. Oh, how there were many times that people had to get right with You, but they went on doing their own things once again like before. The Bible was in their house, but they left it and it continued to collect dust even until their death. You were a prayer away for salvation, but people couldn’t even find that amount of time to reach out to You for mercy and forgiveness. Surely, You do not wish for any person to go to hell or the lake of fire come judgment day. People did this to themselves. They denied their right to know You and to have You know them personally. Lord, I am grateful for this chance to know You each and every day of my life. There is not enough time in this life to fully know You, and I know that I cannot see You literally until I die. But know that You are all I desire in this world to be happy. I am lost with You, God. May Your hand be ever upon my life and my family. Lead us in Your holiness and righteousness. If I am not living for You, then please let me know. I do not wish to hurt You or to cause You to deny me also. I am Yours and You are mine. Have Your way in my life at all times. I love You. I trust in You. Amen.
