It is so important for people to recognize God and give Him thanks. So many times we end out day on a high note but don’t reach out to God to say thank you. The Lord God isn’t even in most people’s minds, a lot of the time, when things are going great. It is sad to see people only reach out to God when things are hard and life is out of reach. It is good to reach out to God in the hard times, but it would be even better if you recognized His blessings in the good times and the bad. 1“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” We are so blessed but God is often forgotten. This world be a different place if God would be recognized for the things He does. Worship would be elevated at all levels. Songs of praise would ring out in churches, homes and on the streets. What a wonderful place this world would be if Jesus was at the head of our lives. If people could remember Him and His glorious gospel of grace, we’d all be encaptured by His amazing presence. The Lord surely 1“satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” All of this is because, they don’t just say they believe in Jesus but truly reach out for Him in all things. A longing soul will come to know great things, for the Holy Spirit will be there guide. As we seek the Lord, His presence will be near. With His presence, we won’t help but give thanks and give praise to God.
Sometimes it takes hard times for one to realize the need for God in their lives and pray. Some people have to go through struggling with an addiction, go through an illness, loss of job, losing a home or a death in the family, before they reach out to God for help. 1“Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron.” The trials these people are facing have led them to a place where there is an opening for help. Their pride has been tarnished and their humbleness has been elevated. This may not seem so good but it is the opening that God needs, in order to come into their lives. These people need to realize that they have 1“rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High.” What we have all done, while in sin, is a crime against God and this recognition helps us realize what we’ve have done is wrong. Here is what is able to happen next, God brings 1“down their heart with labour.” As they fall down on their knees, they realize there is 1“none to help.” This is important for it brings them to cry 1“unto the Lord in their trouble.” God then is able to save 1“them out of their distresses.” Now with any addiction, God shall 1“brake their bands in sunder.” In their struggles, God will give them peace. His love will resurrect their souls from darkness and into His light. This will elevate them to recognize God’s blessings and give praise to God.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, will you stir up a desire in all our hearts to know You? I know that You will come when we need You most. Help people to realize how much You truly care for them. In trials and tribulations, You come through. You deliver us peace and give us direction. Your love opens opportunities in our lives. Help us to always remember what You’ve done for us. Help us understand Your goodness and grace. May people realize that they can have much more in this life than what they have now. You are the answer. You are the giver of new life. I am so amazed how much you care for my needs. How deep is Your love? I pray that Your peace will come into our lives and give us rest. If we are in sin, give us a heart to repent and come back to You. Break the chains of addiction. Help those in darkness, come out of the world and into Your love. Thank You for leading me into Your light. I am safe within Your arms. I can see Your great love for me. Thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for helping me along the way. I am grateful for the hand of God in my life. I praise You Lord. I rejoice in my Savior. You are my Healer. I love You. Amen.
