What a joy it is to pray and commune with the Lord. His presence surely is awe inspiring. I just can’t help but pour out my heart in thanks for all the blessings God has bestowed upon me. My heart burns inside of me as I think of the goodness of God in my life. As David said, 1“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.” What this does is fill our hearts with gladness. For when we are thankful, we are happy. In this moment of thanks, cry out in praises also. Glorify the Name of Jesus. Cry out to God and say, God, I love You, it is an honor to 1“sing praises unto thy name, O Most High.” If you have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, you will understand that His love is amazing. Nothing can match the love that Jesus gives. His sacrifice for sins brings me to tears. Because of what He has done, his lovingkindness does come every morning, when we wake. For we have breath and are blessed with a new day. Every night, we are assured of his faithfulness. Before we rest, we think upon His hand in our day and rejoice. God gave us this new day and allowed us to do great things. He has given us the health we need to carry on. His love flows from us to the lives we touch. Surely the Lord has a hand in everything we do.
2Our love for God will grow as we abide in God’s Word. Through reading and studying His Words, we are able to commune with the Lord and know His will for our lives. In prayer, God confirms things to our hearts. Our questions become answered. We are able to be further taught in the ways of the Lord because of our openness to God. To gain wisdom from the Lord is a wonderful gift. To be led by the Spirit is truly being in line with God. This is what we hope for. Each day, that God directs our path, give Him thanks in prayer. Lift Him up in praises. Each week, we go to church, and worship the Lord in song. For it is joyous to celebrate the life Jesus has given us. In David’s time, he used 1“an instrument of ten strings”, and 1“upon the harp” he made 1“a solemn sound” to the God of the heavens. He did all this because the “Lord, hast made” him glad. In praise, he cried out, 1“O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.” Surely a hard hearted person won’t understand the depths of God’s love. His counsel is foolishness to them. However, to those that are open to God, these are they that God unfolds His mysteries.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am so grateful for this beautiful day. Thank You for allowing me live another day in good health. Thank You for allowing my family to travel in safety this day. Even to my first breath of the day, until now, You have been there for me. You have had a hand in everything. And everything turned out for the best. I give thanks for all You do for me and my family. How deep is Your love. I am grateful for Your wise counsel for my life. You surely have placed me on a greater path. Thank You for taking my hand and leading me from darkness and into Your light. I was once stained by the guilt of my sins but You have cleansed me and now I rejoice. I am saved by Your blood. Your sacrifice has changed me. Thank You. All praise to Your Name, Lord Jesus. I will forever rejoice in the goodness of my God. Your mercy has saved me. I love You. Amen.
