Sometimes it is hard to know why we go through trials. We can go through so many great days and then all of a sudden everything seems to fall apart. People we loved may have just passed away. The job we loved and brought in the money for our family is gone, for we have been fired or laid off. The person we thought loved us, we find out that they have been cheating on us. How can God let us go through such turmoil? We ask ourselves. In these dark moments it is difficult to piece together the missing pieces on our own. Everything we are going through doesn’t make any sense at all. In these times when you are feeling the pains of this world don’t forget the Lord. When things are rising up against you, seek His counsel that you may be able to bear it. Don’t blame God for what is troubling you. Satan is the great deceiver and it is in his power to make you want to blame God. He wants you to feel that He wouldn’t put you through this pain if He loved you. What a lie from the bottomless pit. This is the opposite of what God thinks of us in these times. As we suffer, he suffers with us. It pains Him to have us go through these trials. He wishes He could pull us out of all things that are bad but some things happen for a reason. If we let God help us through them then these difficult times will make us better people. We will grow from these experiences and develop an even deeper faith in God. How deep is your faith in the Lord? If it is on the rocks then come to Him now, so that when times are hard you will have His guidance. Don’t walk blindly through life but let Jesus take you by the hand that you may know the way.
I know that we all go through trials, some greater than others. Things will afflict us that don’t make any sense at all. David once said, 1“Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God.” Many people will come and say that God can’t help us. They are only deceiving us for God is our only hope. He is our refuge and our greatest source of help. David knew this when he said, 1“But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.” God was his fortress in the storms of life. It was made known for He turned to the Lord for deliverance and God delivered on His promises. When life raged on, He clung to the Lord for shelter. Peace was upon him for he believed. Our mighty God is our shield. If we seek Him, He will deflect the temptations of Satan. Our difficult situations will be made light. The Lord will lighten our load and give us rest. His love will carry us through the night. David declared, 1“I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.” I pray that you may seek the Lord often. When things are going wonderfully in life, give Him thanks. When things are hard, come unto Him that you may know the way.
Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I know that I can’t escape the trials of life. All I know is that You make things bearable. You sustain me when times are hard. You give me peace when everything seems broken. Your words have meaning to my life. Your counsel is what I need to know the way. I am grateful to have you in my life. I love You. Amen.
