Glorious Is The Lord

God is all mighty. He is all powerful. His glory shines brighter than the sun. Angels sing holy, holy is the Lord. Songs of praise are continuously declared in His Name. To see the Lord and His angels first hand must have been a marvelous event for Jacob. He saw a ladder coming from the heavens, down to the earth. From the gates of heaven came “the angels of God”, “ascending and descending on it”. The Lord God, in all His glory, then appeared to him and said, “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.” What an amazing thing to behold. It takes my breath away. If I was able to partake of this vision I’d fall down on my face in worship. Tears would stream down my face. What the Lord said next to Jacob gives me hope. The Lord said, “I am with you and will keep you wherever you go”. To think that God cares so much for me as to never leave me, amazes my soul. The Lord is so kind and sees through all my weaknesses. He sees past the stains of the past and makes everything a new. He lifts me up and gives me hope.

Oh Lord, though I have never seen your face I know You are there. In my mind, I can see your glorious presence. You reign supreme in my heart. Each day that I read the Bible, my heart grows closer to You. I can’t wait for the day to see You in person. You are everything to me. You are so merciful to see past my sins. I am so grateful for your mercy. You’ve given me a new life to live without scars. You’ve made me whole again. Thank you for your grace. I lift my hands high to praise You. I sing songs to glorify your Name. Hallelujah, for You are alive in me. There is hope because of the blood you shed for us. You were spotless and still died that we might be redeemed. Thank You for paying the price for our sins on the cross. I will always love You. You shine bright in my heart. I will serve You until the end of time. Nothing can match your love for me. Surely Lord, you are “in this place”. Holy is the Lord. It is awesome to know You. The House of God is on the earth. I will declare your Name to the ends of the earth. One day I hope to greet You with arms open wide. I love You Lord.

Genesis 28:10-17
10 Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran.
11 So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.
12 Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
13 And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.
14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”
17 And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”
