Mormon Teachings That Don’t Agree With The Bible

Morning Teachings don’t always agree with the Bible. Jesus told the Sadducees the same thing in Matthew 22:29, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.” Here are just a few examples where the Mormon Church’s teachings don’t add up to the Word of God.

On this page, the Mormon Teachings are compared to the Bible Teachings. Please open your heart to what the Bible teaches. It is better to be led by God than man. The Mormon Teachings subsections have links to their teachings ( and, while the Bible Teachings subsections have links to God’s teachings from the Bible.

  1. Veil in the temple was torn when Jesus died/Mormon temple still has a veil one needs to pass through.

Different priesthoods. Usually only one High Mel. Priest and Jesus became the last/ Mormons have lots of High Mel. Priest. And other priesthood differences.

Differences in what goes in the temple in the bible and in the Mormon temple.

Gospel of grace and living by faith/ Mormon gospel of works, ordinances, and tokens needed for salvation.

Bible says there is heaven and hell/ Mormons have degrees and you earn your way to the top-kind of like FreeMasons have degrees that you climb your way up to

I think there a lot more things to add.

    • Thank you for these ideas. I just started this page two days ago so you are right that it has a lot more to add. I’ll be listening to yours and others suggestions and be adding them shortly. God bless you. One other thing I am going to add is… Those that believe in Jesus are made sons and daughters of God. Not everyone are children of God like Mormons believe.
      John 1:11-13 KJV
[11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

  2. Where in the Bible does it even mention the Bible? The Bible did not even exist until a Pagan Ruler convened a coulcil of “church” people to settle their disagreements and canonize whatever scriptures they could agree to (there were many more than were accepted, and I believe they blew it by canonizing Song of Solomon). Catholics and Protestants don’t agree on doctrine today and they insist that God has finished revealing His will to men because they “have a Bible”. While I love and respect the Bible, I know it is not all God has ever said or ever will say.

    • The compilation of God’s Words are spoken many times in the form of “God’s Word”, “Word of God”, “Scriptures”. It doesn’t have to say Bible for it to be considered the Bible now. We get the Bible name from the canon process. Sure, certain books were not added to the Bible but I do trust in the process and believe that God’s Word, the Bible is pure in every way. No book in the Bible should have been left out and to think this is to take away the value of the Bible. I love reading the Bible daily. I receive person revelation for what it is saying often. I love how the Spirit just makes the words come to life. This is God’s complete work. No added scripture was ever made by God. The Book of Mormon and other Mormon scriptures are contrary to God’s and man made. If you want to follow the Lord and do His will then read the Bible alone and pray often. This way you will no longer be deceived and come under God’s grace. God bless you.

      Psalm 12:6,7 (KJV)
6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

      Proverbs 30:5,6 (KJV)
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
