A Few Characteristics Of The Wicked

Here are a few characteristics of the wicked. They have stiff necks and are high-minded. They think they know better and deny God and His counsel for their lives. Therefore, as they are lifted up in their own wisdom in this life, they are put down in the next. They have not allowed the Lord to be a part of their lives, and therefore, will have a wake-up call come judgment day. Jesus is the one true judge. Through Him, we can make good judgment calls during our everyday lives. He puts down the high-minded and lifts up the meek. He pours out His wrath upon the wicked in the cup of His indignation, while also pouring out His blessings upon those who come to Him. David wrote, “lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same.” (Psalm 75:5-8)

There will be a reckoning for the wicked come judgment day. They will drink of God’s wrath. Because people don’t care for God, they reject Jesus completely. Therefore, they don’t do God’s will and there are consequences in the life to come. The difference is, true Christians live for God and are no longer conformed to this world. They are confirmed in His likeness, of which holiness and righteousness are made who they are, not willful sin. To confess our sins and forsake them is the least we can do for Jesus, who saved us. Praise the Lord Jesus, who came down to save us. Heaven is our destination, whereas the lake of fire is set apart for the wicked. David continued and said, “but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them. But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.” (Psalm 75:8-10) Make it a point today to come to Jesus and be saved if you have not already. God is waiting. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I know of too many people who are on the pathway to hell. They include people in my family, friends, colleagues, and even some churchgoers that are missing a relationship with You. These people have both feet in the world and many know it too. God, talking to them about You is so difficult. They always see me as being judgmental just because I l want them to know You and be saved. If only people knew that my one true desire is to only help them draw near to You, Jesus. Do I have it all together? No. Am I perfect? No. But my life is dedicated to serving You in Your kingdom. What that looks like is up for interpretation. God, as I am fearful for the outcome of these people’s lives, I am still hopeful for some of them still. I have some wonderful nephews who are showing signs of coming to You. This is amazing. I truly hope and pray that at least one of them comes to faith in You soon, Jesus. As for other people I know, just to get one word in about You, Lord, is difficult. So I will keep praying. I love You, God. Amen.

  1. Hell is real and wicked people will go there forever and the wicked people are those who are vile, yes but also those people who never accepted or believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Every Christ rejecter goes to hell.
