Mormon God Of Confusion

Mormon missionaries come to Christians wanting to share what they call is God’s truth, however, there is something very odd with every discussion they give to people. What Mormon missionaries talk about is not what Christians believe in or have kept to be true for the many years of their lives. Instead of their teachings helping people understand deeper knowledge of what they already know and believe, they come sharing something contrary and different. They say they come with a message of hope that is filled with love, but you have to ask yourself, is God a God of confusion? Would He lead us in one way while a Christian and then lead us in the opposite way as a Mormon? Absolutely not. But their message seems so innocent and heartfelt, why wouldn’t we want to listen to them? The reason is, although a person may appear genuine, they may very well be deceived and not even be aware of it. So when they come sharing a message about eternal families and asking you your thoughts, it would be easy to agree with them that this must be of God. However, Jesus, Himself, said differently.

This is the problem we are facing. The majority of the Mormon teachings disagree with core Christian teachings. We would teach that Jesus has always been God, is the first and the last and uncreated, and the creator of all things, including Lucifer. He atoned for our sins the moment He died on the cross. It was finished. His and our Father is Spirit and omnipresent at that, meaning He can be in any place at once. Our Faith is founded upon Jesus and if we get this wrong, then we are worshipping a false Christ that does not save. So when Mormons come teaching a different Jesus, we must reject it altogether and them. They may believe that Jesus is the brother of Lucifer, a created being who became God, His Father has a body, how He atoned for our sins in the garden, and not to worship Him but the Father, but it all goes against the Bible and is still false. “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33) So Mormons may appear religious, but their false teachings make them not Christian. Don’t let them confuse you into believing lies about God. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, help Christians be grounded in their faith in the Bible. It is so easy to give in to other people and how they think about things that appear to be religious in nature. For example, I have heard the discussions that Mormons give to people many times. They appear to be very convincing on paper and from the mouths of these LDS Missionaries, but at the same time are also false. God, You have given me the insight to know what is true and what is false. I asked You for wisdom and it was given to me little by little over time. You have opened my eyes so that I can spot false teachings a mile away. Not to be rude or condescending to people who are simply doing what they feel is right, but helping them know You, Jesus. Your true teachings of the Bible is what they are missing. Help me reach these people with love and respect. Although I have learned to hate even the appearance of evil, which involves false teachings, I love the people. This love has come from You, Jesus. I would never want to be kind or gracious to one another if You were not with me. May I always walk in Your footsteps. I love You, Lord. Amen.
