Wait Upon The Lord

Wait upon the Lord. The best things in life come from His hands. He is my rock and my salvation. He is my defense. I will not be moved while His presence is with me. I shall not fall away into sin because of temptation, for I am made strong in the Lord. He is my salvation and to whom I give glory. I don’t glory in anything else but my God. He is my rock and where my strength comes from. My refuge comes from the Lord. Give Him your divided attention, even more so than You do with people on earth. If you do just this, He will do many great and mighty works in Your life. Sin will not abound, but good works. We are not saved by our works, but our faith will be on full display when God is with us. He opens our mouths and gives us speech. David wrote, “my soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.” (Psalm 62:5-7)

Trust in God at all times, not just a single day of the week at church. Pour out your heart before Him in prayer often. The Lord is our refuge. You would know this if your prayer life was alive in Christ. Don’t let the riches of this world take hold of you, for it is all vanity. Sinners are caught up in their riches. They lie in order to get what they want in life. Trust not in things that don’t truly satisfy our soul. Give unto others, don’t rob them. Remember that your riches come from the Lord. David continued his psalm and wrote, “trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity. Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.” (Psalm 62:8-10) Is this being played out in your life? If not, then do something today for God. Shine brightly before our Lord Jesus and man. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that Your peace will resonate in our lives. This life is not always easy, but it is much easier to bear when You are with us. How fast does this life go by? At one point there are no worries in this world and healthy. Sickness has not caught up to us yet, but as I have aged, and so has my generation and older, we know that death could be at the door. We are not young anymore. Our life is slowly coming to an end. Therefore to serve You, Lord, all the remaining days of my life is all I desire. To go out serving You with my whole heart is what I truly desire. May Your praises be coming from my lips when that day comes. Lord. I don’t need riches in this life. I don’t need worldly pleasure to give me fulfillment, for I have found it with You. You are my rock and my firm foundation. I will not grow weary of doing Your good works, for that is where my joy comes from. Hear my prayers, God. Help me to live for You, this day and forever. Lead me from temptation. I trust in You, Jesus. I love You. Amen.
