Mormons Exalt Themselves To Godhood

Mormonism and Christianity are more different than you may think. Mormons believe that people on earth can be exalted to Godhood, whereas Christians believe that there is only one God. The following is an excerpt from the teachings of the Mormon Church, which support what I just mentioned. “For I am the Lord thy God, and will be with thee even unto the bend of the world, and through all eternity; for verily I seal upon you your exaltation, and prepare a throne for you in the kingdom of my Father, with Abraham your father.” (Doctrine And Covenants 132:49) Exaltation to what? Godhood. Joseph Smith said, “Here, then, is eternal life–to know the only wise and true God. And you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves–to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done–by going from a small degree to another, from grace to grace, from exaltation to exaltation, until you are able to sit in glory as do those who sit enthroned in everlasting power.” (King Follett Discourse) Does this sound like it’s from God or Satan? Satan, of course, for he also wanted to be elevated to Godhood but fell.

As for Christians, we know that humans will be like unto angels when we die, but not Gods. God taught us that we are just men and never to be God. “The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:” (Ezekiel 28:1,2) People may call themselves god or believe in exaltation to godhood, but they are not part of the fold of Christ. As for us, we know there is only one God. Paul taught, “For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” (1 Corinthians 8:5,6) Who will Mormons believe? Their false prophets or what the Bible teaches. The truth is, exaltation is made up and taught by the devil. Mormons have given in to his lies. They are so lost. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I want the Mormons to know how much I love them. How I am reaching them for Your gospel’s sake, because I want them to go to heaven. I wish that they could see You in me, but they are blinded by what their false prophets have said about us evangelicals. So instead of hearing Your message, most of them laugh, scoff, or don’t listen. Their pride is on full display. Do they really think that their religious apparel on Sundays makes them any better off with You? Why do they put their trust in man instead of You, Jesus. The Bible teaches that You are to lead us now, and not prophets. How can this be so visible in scripture and these lost people still deny these truths when presented? Lord, each time I bring up verses like this in Hebrews 1. They simply say I am misinterpreting what it really says. How the Bible as a whole cannot be trusted, but only if it is translated correctly. Surely, Satan has a hold of their lives. He has taken them by the hand and now the blind is leading the blind. The devil hates You and the Bible. So for him to cause these people to lose trust in Your words is what he’s wanted since the beginning. Lord, wake these people up to know You before it is too late. I love You, Jesus. I trust in You. Amen.
