Jesus Atoned For Our Sins On The Cross

Jesus’s death on the cross is what gives every Christian hope for a new day. As sinners, we need His blood to cover us to be forgiven. There is no other way to heaven unless a person is pardoned by God for their trespasses. This begins with what Jesus did for us when He suffered and died for our sins on the cross. This is where atonement was made on our behalf. It didn’t begin with Gethsemane and end on the cross. People who teach this are teaching a false gospel and are taking away from the importance of the cross. As we read the Bible, it is spoken time and time again that the payment for sin happened on the cross and in no other place. It is written, “for when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:6-8) Praise be to God that Jesus paid the penalty for sin on the cross that we could not do on our own. He is the Lamb of God who came to take away the sins of the world. Will you receive the sacrifice that was made for you on the cross?

Paul continued and said, “much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” (Romans 5:9-11) This cannot be more plain than what I just read. In the death of Jesus on the cross was atonement made. Paul continues and reads, “for he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.” (Romans 6:7-10) Truly, “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3,4) This is the one true gospel message we should be sharing with others. Any other gospel is false and needs to be rooted out of our lives for the sake of Christ and our salvation. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray for the salvation of many more people on this earth. You already did Your part the moment You died for our sins on the cross. This blood atonement means everything to me. Thank You, Jesus, for paying that penalty for sin that I could not do on my own. You have come and cleansed me through Your blood. I didn’t deserve Your grace, for I have done some terrible things in this life. You know about my past and still You have freely forgiven me, while wiping my slate clean. You are so good, God. I don’t even have the words to say to You, for what You’ve done has changed my life. You are holy, God, and I give You the praise and honor that You deserve. You complete me, God. I was lost and then You found me. Thank You for breathing into my soul the Holy Spirit. Because You have saved me, my only desire now is to go out in the harvest and bring the lost to You, Jesus. Guide me to people who are ready to receive You fully into their lives. I have spoken to many people who don’t have ears to hear now, but I pray that it will soon change. I am grateful for the people that You have put on my path, in order to share the true gospel. I love You, Lord. Lead me this day and forever. Amen.
