Book Of Mormon Plagiarism: Moroni 7:45,46 – Part 1

Many Christians turn to 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, for the wealth and knowledge about charity. These verses from Paul have been a blessing to Christ’s church for centuries. However, certain people like Joseph Smith of Mormonism thought he could be smart and copy and paste these verses in a chapter in his own book of Mormon. You will see this for yourself as we look into this together. Paul wrote, “charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) Amen and amen. As Christians, we need the Holy Spirit, in order to have charity in our lives. This showcases our true faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, which is unto salvation.

The problem here is that these same verses appear in the Book of Mormon, by a person named Moroni. He supposedly lived around 401-421AD on the American content, of which never met Paul the Apostle. It was Joseph Smith that made up this man named Moroni and also copied and pasted the verses from 1 Corinthians 13 in it. It reads, “charity suffereth long, and is kind, and cenvieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail.” (Moroni 7:45,46) If this is not the biggest blunders of which Joseph Smith wrote in the book of Mormon, then I don’t know what to think. All I know is that it was a forgery/plagiarism from Paul’s writings, of which only Joseph Smith knew about in the Bible. This is a big red flag and should get Mormons to really wonder if their book is true or not, which is easily found out to be false.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I love Your ways. What You can teach me is true and faithful. I want more of you and less of me. Have your way in my life. Help me stay on Your holy path. I know that there are many false churches out there. I’ve been talking with a few people from them lately and it has been a sad occurrence. I wish there was more fruit that comes from these endeavors, but they constantly lead to more arguments. Surely, when people are unsaved, they are puffed up in pride and have no desire to learn. They think that they have it all already and have nothing left to learn from a Christian. Lord, this is very sad. All I wish is that certain people will come to know You and that seeds will be planted in their hearts, but I am afraid that this may take a lot longer than I expected. The Holy Spirit does move fast in people’s lives unto salvation and I pray that this happens with the next few people I talk to in the Mormon faith. I give them over to You. Help me know how to reach them for Your kingdom. I love You. I trust in You. Amen.
