Jesus’s Sacrifice Never Ends

What Jesus did for us on the cross means more than anything to me and many others who have submitted their lives to believe in and follow Him. Truly, once people begin to understand what the Lord God did for us, their whole life will be changed forever. His blood atonement on the cross lasts for all ages to come. Nothing the ancient high priests could match, for His offering for sin doesn’t end. Their offerings couldn’t even take away the sins of the people, no matter how many times they offered them up to God on the alter, but Jesus’s does. He is the lamb of God, who came to take away the sins of the world. Speaking of Jesus, it is written in Hebrews, chapter 10, the following… “Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.” (Hebrews 10:9-12) Amen. Jesus came to take away the sins of the world. What people need to do now is look to Him in faith and accept His offering for sin. Then can they be forgiven and be saved.

The writer of Hebrews also said the following concerning Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross. “From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.” (Hebrews 10:13-18) By way of Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, every believer in Him is also changed by way of the Holy Spirit. Because they are open to God’s ways now, He is able to make a covenant with His people also. And this is the covenant, that the Lord will put His laws in their hearts and in their minds. This will help people know what is right and no longer willfully sin before the Lord God almighty. And because the Holy Spirit is now in them, they can walk differently than the world does. The best part is that our sins are forgiven and no longer remembered. We are covered by the blood that was shed once and for all. Amen.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that we will all come to You with open arms if we have not already. That we will lay down anything that is keeping us from believing in and following You completely. If said things are addictions, bad habits, false beliefs, family traditions, possessions, or money. That we will lay them down at your feet. That we will no longer be tied down to things that don’t matter when we die. Because You died for me, there is hope for this life and the one to come. And because the Holy Spirit is with me now, I am able to do Your will as it is in heaven. Praise be to God for trusting in me, though I have not always been good to You. I give You thanks for Your sacrifice on the cross, of which started off the new covenant with every believer. Because You have died for my sins, I covenant with You, my God, that the laws which You write upon my heart and my mind, I will do. I will not get caught up in my own things but lay them aside for Your glory. And because I now have a map to follow in this life, I am sure to not willfully sin like before. All because You have my hand and will not let me fall. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, God. You got me and I am so grateful. I love You more than anything. I give You praise!. Amen.
