A Renewed Life In Christ

The greatest joy comes when I am seeking God, while doing His will and not my own. I am never fully fulfilled in anything the world throws at me, but only in the things that God does for me. His love is like nothing else. There is a big difference when it comes to following the Lord, then when we are following after our own desires. In the world, we are never fully satisfied in the things we have. There is always a need to have something better than we have now. Therefore, we tend to spend more money in things and cause financial issues upon our family. And when addiction has taken hold of our lives, there is often regret, guilt, shame, and depression along with it. It is because we are only fulfilled in the moment that we sin, is when the guilt starts to hit us strong afterword’s. This is God trying to convict us of the things we are doing, of which offends Him and the Holy Spirit. However, unless a person has humbled themselves in their broken state, will they come to God in prayer about it. It does take a lot for a person to realize how far gone they are and then desire to be saved by the Lord’s hand, but this is exactly what God expects of every person. You see, God hates even the appearance of evil, as should we. Therefore, in order to enter heaven one day, a perfect and spotless place, we must be made clean through the blood of Jesus. Only through His cleansing power can we be saved and renewed into newness of life.

When it comes to our new life in Christ, Paul described this new walk in great detail in Romans, chapter 7. How we are married to Christ when we believe in Him. That we are able to bring forth fruit from Him. We once were walking in the flesh, but are now walking in the Spirit. Sin is no longer an everyday part of our lives, for we are dead to sin. How God has delivered us from our old life and brought us into newness of life. This he said here. 1“Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” (Romans 7:4-6) Do you not realize the implications in all of this? I hope so, because if you have allowed the Lord into your life, then you don’t have to worry anymore about being fulfilled in the things of this world, but what God gives you. And when we start doing as the Lord says, this is when true joy starts to enter our lives. We don’t have to search for happiness any longer, for His presence is with us always, filling us up with His great love. Our desires for sin is over, but to do as the Lord God commands us. This is a renewed life in Christ.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that everyone that desires to be saved will come unto You today. May they desire to walk apart from the darkness, that You may guide them in Your light. Only when You give us eyes to see are we able to do what is righteous and stop doing what is evil in our own eyes. Truly, our sins are what weigh us down and keep us from following You, and I pray that if anyone is under bondage now because of an addiction, that You will cast it out in Your mighty Name, Jesus. Though they may be afflicted because of such things now, I know that You have the power to deliver them from the sins that they have committed. So convict them of what they did was wrong, that they may come humbly to You in prayer, in all their confessions. I pray that it may be sincere and that they may come unto You for a refreshing of the Holy Spirit in their lives. What You did for us on the cross is so powerful, since any person can be saved because of it. Because You paid the price for our sins, Lord, those that follow You and do as You say are saved. This can’t be any better scripted. What a great God You are. I was so unworthy when I called upon Your Name for salvation. I was broken and tattered because of the sexual sins I had committed. Then, as I raised my voice to the heavens and cried out to You, Lord, You heard me. I was not left alone to suffer, because of my guilt and shame, but You rescued me. You took me by the hand and carried me out of the old life I was in and placed me on the right path. Only You could redeem a lost soul like me. Thank You, Lord. I owe all to You. May there be more salvations and many more souls be saved. To declare Your great Name and showing love to others brings me the greatest joy of all. Truly, You know that I love You and care for You with all my heart. I praise You, God. Amen.

Romans 7 (KJV)
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
