Do You Believe In The Gospel?

While in this life it is very important that we are right with God at all times, especially since we don’t know the day or hour when we will die. It would be terrible, when our live is over and we were to come before the Lord in judgement and be found guilty and not able to enter heaven. In this moment, we would instantly be thinking back at our life and wonder what we did wrong, in order to be found unworthy. Oh, how we would be terrified and trembling before God. Then, would we try to tell him about our good works and how we tried to live as best as we could in our faith. However, God would make us known to the scripture that says 1“we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” (Isaiah 64:6) Only if Jesus has covered us by His blood are we worthy in God’s sight. So, if we were following another gospel that is contrary to the Bible, God would now let us know that we were really walking in darkness and not for Him. Please understand that 3“there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:7,8) It doesn’t matter if the church that we go to makes us warm and fuzzy inside, if what they are teaching is adding to or changing what the Bible says, then it is wrong. There is no ifs ands or buts about it with God. So take into account what Paul said about accepting another gospel. Because this was taught to people, then it was an issue then, as it is now. You ought to wonder what your church teaches about the gospel, and if it is any different than the Bible, then it is another gospel.

So let’s examine what the gospel is in the Bible, and if you are interested to know where it is defined, you can find these verses in 1 Corinthians, chapter 15. It is here that Paul said, 2“moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) So what do we learn here? It is that the gospel message is that Jesus died for our sins on the cross and was resurrected the third day. Do you believe this to be true or has your church taken the gospel message and manipulated it to fit their belief style? I ask this since the Mormon church has a different gospel then what is taught in scripture. Instead of teaching that Jesus died for our sins on the cross, it is taught that Jesus paid for our sins in the garden of Gethsemane and then finished it on the cross, while resurrecting the third day. You see what we have here? We have men changing scripture and creating doctrines of men. Now, let me remind you of how God feels about church’s and/or people that create and follow another gospel. If people like this approach you about their faith, then don’t listen and 3“let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:9) It is my prayer that you come unto Jesus, starting today. Read the Bible daily and allow His good works to flow through You, while believing the true gospel. Then will you be ready in judgement.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that people that say they believe in You, will also pray often and read the Bible daily. This way will they know and do what You have taught us and follow the teachings of men. It is so important that we don’t let other people get our beliefs mixed up with their own doctrines of men. So help shield our minds, as we start learning what You have taught us in scripture. May we know if we what we are already believing in is true and what people are trying us to teach is true as well. If there is any false believes inside of us now, flush them out, oh Lord. If there are false teachings being taught in the church that we go to, bring this to our attention, that we might walk away from it and find a more faithful Bible believing church. I don’t wish my mind to become accepting of things that You have said nothing about or against. For this reason, God, it is my wish to have Your Spirit with me at all times. Help me know the difference between what is good in Your sight and what is evil. May I never fall victim to believing in another gospel again. I now know from scripture that Jesus died for our sins on the cross and was resurrected the third day. Believing in this, I know to be the truth gospel message. Because You died for my sins, Jesus, I have forgiveness and mercy. When I repent and come unto You fully, then You are able to set me free and put me on the right path. In doing this, You are able to lead me away from sin and into Your light. It is because You have risen, I am made alive in the Spirit and am able to know what is righteous and holy in Your sight. I love You ways, oh Lord. Keep me in the faith, and never let me drift in any other direction. I love You more than the comforts of knowing anything else that You can teach me. Your ways are true and faithful and I am grateful to be a part of it. I love You. Amen.

1Isaiah 64 (KJV)
1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
8 But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
9 Be not wroth very sore, O Lord, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
10 Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
11 Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
12 Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O Lord? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?

21 Corinthians 15:1-8 (KJV)
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

3Galatians 1:1-12 (KJV)
1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
