The Reason Why I Witness

My true desire is to see lives saved by the blood of Jesus.  Not to make money for what I do on my site, “Daily Christian Devotionals”, but to lead someone that is willing to the Lord.  This is why there are no Ads on this website (dailycdev.com) and I don’t promote donations either, but only accept them if people desire to give an offering.  Everyone that loves Jesus and desires to follow Him would also do something similar as mine, maybe not in the same fashion, but with true conviction to God, in order to bring the lost unto Him.  Not everybody has been given gifts like mine for evangelizing, writing, and building a website, but He has different purposes for people that are willing to answer His call.  This is called spiritual gifts and He is willing to bestow upon them upon anyone that is following Him and doing His will.  They just need to seek His hand often in prayer and begin reading the Bible daily, then the Lord will do great things through them.  So what do we need to be doing?  It is to develop a relationship with the Lord, our God, each day.  And how is this accomplished? It is by giving God our precious time.  So often do we fill up our days with things that fulfill the lusts of the flesh, but less likely for God.

How different would your life really be like if you started giving God the time He deserves?  The answer is a change of heart, mind, and soul.  Our whole life would change, if the Lord became our focal point.  So what does this look like?  It is when a person starts to shift their attention upon God in everything they do.  This includes TV watching, game playing, tablet and phone use, and music we listen to.  If we simply allowed God to conform His ways into those things, then our outlook upon life would be very different.  This is because the time that you spend doing those things above would be God centered instead.  So your TV shows and movies would be filtered out to include only things that God would approve.  The same goes for the games that you play, what apps you use on your devices, and the music you choose to listen to.  This would open the doors to watch things that are uplifting like Christian Ministries and listen to Christian Music on this site and others.  The Bible would also be utilized more often than not, as well.  So the question is, do you love Jesus enough to give Him your whole heart?  If you do, then you will repent and allow Him to conform your life with things that He approves of and not you.

Now, the reason why I share these things with you is because I love you and God has made me a witness to the lost. I am also called to strengthen the brethren and sisters in the faith. My prayer is that this message will help you more fervently walk with Christ and not dwindle from the path. If you love the Lord as much as I do, which I hope that there are many people that do, then you will also allow God to use you. Please know that God’s Word teaches us that as we serve the Lord, then we also become His witnesses. This is made known to us from the Bible in many different places. One place specifically is in the book of Joshua that reads, 1“Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the Lord, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.” (Joshua 24:22) So what made them a witness? It is their willingness to serve the Lord in all things. This makes me and any other person that loves Jesus enough to do things that we would normally not be capable of. I’ve never been good with words when speaking with people, but when I get out and witness God’s truths with others, then I am able to speak plainly. Praise the Lord for this. Trust in Him for He is good!

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I pray that more people will understand the reason to be a witness for You and settle by doing other things. It all comes down to their willingness to serve You Lord, and I pray that this will begin to happen in their lives, starting today. May they understand the need to know You through Your Words in the Bible and to pray often. You are the way to eternal life, but how can we be led if You are not the Lord of our lives? The answer is that we cannot. You are our mighty God and there is no other way to heaven, but by following You, Jesus. You are my Lord and my life. I am on Your path, because You have heard my cries and placed me on it. I am led by Your light, because You have the best intentions for my life and I love You so much for that. Thank You for Your compassion towards me, even when I fall into sin. I am sorry when I fall victim to temptation as it really hurts me inside, and I can just imagine what it does to You when I slip up. I am just so grateful that You paid the penalty for sin for me, that I have a way out of it. The price was paid, so that mercy could be met when I call upon Your Name in my confessions. You can then help me turn from my sins and follow You in all faithfulness. It is my desire to serve you with my whole heart, body and soul. I don’t wish anything of this world to come between us, God. I want less of me and more You. Tear down the lusts of the flesh that more of Your desires will flow through my mind and into my heart. I love You Lord. You are who made me Your witness to this world and I am grateful for that. Lead me to the lost, that they may know of Your gospel message of the cross and resurrection and come unto You for salvation. I am Your humble servant and I trust in Your mighty counsel and direction. Amen.

1Joshua 24:14-27 (KJV)
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the Lord, to serve other gods;
17 For the Lord our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
18 And the Lord drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the Lord; for he is our God.
19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Lord: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
20 If ye forsake the Lord, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the Lord.
22 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the Lord, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
23 Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the Lord God of Israel.
24 And the people said unto Joshua, The Lord our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the Lord.
27 And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the Lord which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.
