Friday Night Evangelizing (07/19/2019)

Tonight was one of, if not the most amazing time that I have ever experienced out in God’s harvest . What started off with me praying for people to hear the gospel message tonight was heard in a big way. As I walked the streets and got to my favorite spot for preaching and teaching from the Word, the Spirit came over me. So I began to tell everyone that passed by me that Jesus saves. How He can reach them, if they but come unto Him in prayer. It was a longing for their souls to be saved and people started listening. First came a few teenagers that I had reached a few weeks back. Their questions came about pornography and something to praise God about also, of which how the Lord has freed this young man from his masturbation addiction. Praise God indeed. So as they questioned things, I came back to them with what God’s Word says. How God loves each person but hates the sin. It is the sin in our lives that needs to be destroyed and then our lives can be rescued through Jesus our Savior. Otherwise, those that don’t accept Christ in their lives, but decide to live in sin, are on the path of destruction. These people will one day be judged harshly for the things they have done and eventually be thrown into the lake of fire. This I proclaimed that Jesus can save each person from hell. It is through the cross that people can be redeemed and change their lives. It was then, as I was sharing this gospel truth about Jesus and His sacrifice for sins on the cross, that more people stopped and listened. One person said that it is natural for them to sin and hard to resist temptation. Of which I said he was correct and this would always be so if the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit is not with us. It is only by the Spirit of God that we are able to resist temptation. This is done through much prayer and reading the Bible daily.

I then opened up to Romans 6 and had a woman, that was in the midst of people listening, read a few of the verses about sin. So she did so and helped explain to the people that in Christ, we are dead to sin and no longer walk in it. Instead, 2“we walk in newness of life”. (Romans 6:4) At this point, many others joined in on the gospel conversation until the whole block was filled with people. There must have been at least fifty to sixty people gathered around listening. The best part was that nobody was upset. It felt like a church service/bible study, but on the streets, where everyone’s ears were opened to God and His message. It was such an amazing sight to see and to be God’s messenger leading the discussion. We then got to the point of the conversation about how Jesus can break us free from all addiction in our life. 1Just as Jesus prayed in the Lord’s prayer that we ought to have God lead us from temptation, this is true for anyone wanting God to free them from their life of pornography, drinking, drugs, sex outside of marriage and other things. We need to give it all to God and ask for Him to lead us out of temptation. Many people had positive things to say on this. Lastly, after reading more of the Lord’s prayer together, we read further in the chapter about where our treasure is, there is where our heart is also. So if our time is watching TV, playing video games or spending time on our phones, then that has become an idol to us and needs to be taken care of with God. The same thing can be said with our own forgiveness. 1As Jesus said, for us to be forgiveness, we must also learn to forgive others as well. So as we walk in the light of Christ our ways are conformed like unto His and our desires are also. This is why we are then able to make light of difficult situations and forgive others, when forgiveness is needed. We also are ready to say sorry when people are hurt by what we do. This was all taught and shared with the love of Jesus leading the conversation.

Many people thanked me for being bold and taking charge in delivering God’s message to the people. They said that they were amazed to see me so calm and collective about myself, even with so many people around me. My answer to this was that I am not afraid to share the truth of God, to anyone that has an ear to hear. I am also not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They then said that they were encouraged by the preaching. These three women then asked to pray over me, in order to ask God to continue to bless me in my efforts. I was honored in this. So they put their hands upon me and prayed. I thank God for these women. Now, before people left, I gave them devotional cards for my site. This way they could draw nearer to Christ through the messages and also stay in touch with me. Before leaving that night, I saw this homeless lady sitting down, behind where I was teaching and preaching. It was then that the Spirit led me to talk to her. She had faith in God once, but that was a long time ago. After hearing this I shared my testimony of how I came to believe in Jesus and why I go on the streets. I explained that Jesus is our Savior and wants to be there for her. How He wants her to read the Bible, and how it will be easier the more she reads. I told her that I write devotionals in order to help people understand what the Bible says also. We even read a devotion together, “Have You Anyone Else Here?” and she loved it. It then came time to leave, but I wanted to pray over her and she said I could, which was awesome to see her faith. She was on streets and needed a job desperately, so I pleaded that God would move in her life and open doors. I also asked that she would be strengthened and be led by God’s hand. It was a wonderful to be with her and all the people I was able to speak to this night. I give God all the glory. Thank You Lord.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am so grateful for this evening. It was truly a night to remember. Thank You for leading so many people to me, in order for the gospel message to be preached to them. I loved every minute I had sharing the good news of the cross and how You can cover their sins through Your blood. It was amazing to go out in Your harvest in boldness and share with people what the Bible teaches about sin and hell. I could see the conviction in their eyes and it was great to see so many people wake up to the urgency of getting themselves right with You, before it is too late. What transpired this evening is a miracle in the making and it was all because of You, Jesus. I give You all the glory. If any of these people then gave their lives to you in prayer, I just want to say that I was honored to help them come to You. It was my desire this entire night to simply draw as many souls that I could to You, in order for them to be saved. Even if one of these people’s faith was strengthened, I know that the angels in heaven, along with You God were smiling down and shouting for joy. I love Your Words and teaching what You have had to say in the bible is truly enlightening to me. My faith was increased seven fold this night and I would be honored to have many more evenings like this. Surely, Your harvest is white, we just need more people out there, willing to be a part of it. While in it, we don’t know the night we will have, but every time is a good day when even one person hears the gospel message. I love You Lord. I love the gospel and desire for many more souls to be saved. Amen.

Let us read the Bible:
Note: Any Numbered References, found above, are listed below.

1Matthew 6:1-15 (KJV)
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

2Romans 6:1-12 (KJV)
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
