Don’t Harden Your Hearts, But Listen To God

The Lord is continually calling people to repentance, but because their hearts are closed off to Him, they cannot hear His voice. All He asks is that people simply believe in and follow Him, but still their pride gets in the way each time and they disregard God. So many of them say in their hearts, I have tomorrow, let me think things over then. However, what became important the day before no longer is and it is either forgotten or overlooked. Other people aren’t so lucky and die the next day that they get the warning from God to repent and change their lives. This is because God can only warn a person so many times before our time is up and there is no more mercy or forgiveness for our lives. The fact is that God wants to bring everyone unto Him, that they may know of His mercy and grace, but nobody is pushed into this. Because free will is in place in people’s lives, they have the choice to follow Jesus and do as He says or not. God, myself and other witnesses are beckoning people to make the right decision, but we can only do so much. Every person that is lost and living a sinful life needs to wake up to their sins and have a need for a Savior, in order to go heaven one day. Otherwise, their destination is hell. And this breaks my heart to think of the millions of people that are on this path of destruction right now. They are destroying their lives by doing their own things, instead of being obedient to God. Think of the Pharaoh, whom God tried to reach, but because his ways were already set, he never gave into God. Instead, he got angry with Moses and Aaron, while hardening his heart each time God sent His plagues into Egypt.

It doesn’t matter how mad or distant a person is with God, His will, will always be done. So it came time for God to warn the Pharaoh one last time. Moses recorded, 1“I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.” (Exodus 11:1) This last plague was horrific and therefore, really woke him up to the mighty power of God. It was in this plague that 1“all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.” (Exodus 11:5,6) This included Pharaoh’s son. You can see how he’d be angry to see his son die, however, he got the warnings but from God and continued to disregard it. So to allow God’s people to go free, this was necessary. This is also the case for anything else the Lord purposes for our lives and others we are affecting. If any person is stopping a person’s ability to worship God, then they will also be punished. This goes for anyone that ridicules the messenger of God and others in the faith. If you are found not on the Lord’s side, then there will be found much pain and sorrow throughout your life, until You give into God and He saves you. Otherwise, there will be heartache come death. It is not worth giving up eternal happiness for things that we cannot take with us in death. So make a choice today to follow Jesus and do His will. I am praying for you.

Let us pray:
Lord, I pray that your Spirit will come down and rest inside of those people that are humble and willing to listen to You. May the pride in their lives be lowered down a level to see Your needs above their own. I know that too many people get caught up in doing things their own way and that distracts them from doing Your will. This I see because I was once like this. I thought I had everything figured out until the day that I found You. Then I realized that I was wrong in every aspect of the word. The path I was on was only leading me to be less happy and more guilty because of the sins I was committing. I was deceived into ignoring Your calling and accepting the temptations of the devil. This would have destroyed me if You had not found me where I was at and had mercy for my soul. I truly needed a Savior and You rushed in and lifted me up. I didn’t know the right way to live my life and therefore, You took my hand and have been leading me ever since. I am so grateful for the day that I started reading the Bible daily and praying to You often. Just seeking Your face was the best decision of my life. There is so much joy in my life now, than ever before. Thank You for caring so much for me and not giving up on me. Though I had given up over the years, You always saw the best in me. Oh, how blessed and honored I am to be Your child. I pray that You will always be with me. Abide with me in this life and the next. Shine Your light upon me, that others may see Your goodness and follow You also. I want all the world to know that Jesus saves. I love You Lord. Amen.
