God Gives Us Words To Speak

Often times do we look at ourselves and think that we are unable to do the will of God. He may have spoken to our lives and given us a calling, through the Holy Spirit, but because of our own inadequacies, we question God and His motives. Because of what people have portrayed us in this life, we may think that we will be ridiculed if we do things that we know we were bad at. For example, I am not the best speaker and often find myself with my words all tied up because of stuttering. This happens when I get excited about something. However, the difference is that when I am on my own, my stuttering exists, however, with the Lord leading me, I am able to speak clearly. It is no longer myself, but God doing all the talking. All I have to do is open my mouth and He fills it. I no longer have to worry about things, for the Lord has my back. This takes a lot of trust in God, but having this kind of faith is what a true Christian does. Now, did you know that Moses had a similar issue as mine? Well, as he called it, he is of uncircumcised lips and people had a hard time understanding him because of this. And much like I didn’t understand things in the beginning, he questioned how people would ever respond to him because of his weakness. However, God can do all things for those that trust in Him. Therefore, He reassured Moses as He reassured me. 1“The Lord spake unto Moses, saying, I am the Lord: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.” (Exodus 6:29) He simply asks us to speak and He will give us words to say. We are not required to know how to approach each person, for the Lord knows exactly who that person is and will give us words to speak to their lives. This will they know that God is real and working through us.

God reassured Moses, as He continues to do so for me, that as we go forth in faith, miracles will take place through His hands. He reassured Moses in this by saying, 1“now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.” (Exodus 6:2,3) He continued and said, 1“I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.” (Exodus 6:6,7) It was this assurance and understanding of God that Moses needed to go to the children of Israel and speak to them concerning their deliverance out of Egypt. However, they 1“hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.” (Exodus 6:9) This He told God, but still Moses did not understand. So the Lord said, 1“Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.” (Exodus 6:11) He just wanted Moses to listen to Him and allow Him to speak through Him. However, problems with his speech got in the way this time. Please understand that this does not have to happen this way. The Lord God wants to move in your life, but it is up to you to just do as He says. And when you finally learn then, then what you speak to people will be of Him and not of yourself. What an amazing moment that will be.

Let us pray:
Oh Lord, I am so grateful to be Your servant. It brings me great joy to go out in the harvest and preach the good news of the gospel to everyone that will listen. Truly, what You did for us on the cross needs to be told to everyone that has ears to hear, and for me to be Your messenger is a great blessing and honor. I know that I wasn’t always so trusting in Your promises for my life, but I am so grateful that I have put aside my fear and just went forward in faith. I may not be the best public speaker, while on my own terms, but with You at the head, Your words just flow through me like butter and I cannot stop from speaking. It is beautiful, my Lord. Time just flies when I just go out in faith and allow You to overflow inside of me. I know that the Holy Spirit wants to do great things in my life and others, it is just up to us to answer Your calling and do as You have said. It is truly amazing to see all the people that have come unto You in faith, Lord, and to see other peoples’ faith be strengthened, because of my time on the streets and in their homes with them. My simple desire to follow Your promptings, pray with people and to proclaim the gospel, has done great and mighty things in the hearts of thousands of people. Thank You Lord for using a person, such as I. I simply submitted to Your will and You responded. May my life continue to walk in Your light. I desire to see many more souls be saved in Your Kingdom. I also wish that more people in the faith will respond to their calling and no longer resist it, but respond in Your favor. Then, will many more people reach the lost with the good news of the gospel. I love You Lord. I trust in You God. Amen.
